In Pokemon Sword and Shield there's a new type of item that will allow you to teach your Pokemon a move called Technical Records. These can only be used once and they will be consumed. You will need to then purchase or find another one if you want to teach another Pokemon the move. This was pretty much how Technical Machines (TMs) worked in the past, but they can be used as many times as you want.

These can be purchased by using Watts in the open world Wild Areas. Once you finish the game, you will also be able to purchase them at the Battle Tower by using BP.
