How to escape the Doll basement in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

We got to get out of this place!

Eventually, after solving both the Mr. Monkey and Doll puzzles, players will find themselves inside a creepy Doll basement in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose. If you want to escape the lengthy Doll basement portion of the Shadows of Rose DLC, you can do so by following a few simple tips. In short, for most of the Doll basement, you must hide and wait for threats to pass. Not waiting for the right moment to move will often lead to deaths at the hands of Mother dolls and the various Scyth dolls roaming around. That said, follow the tips and tricks we have below, and you will make it out of the forsaken Doll basement in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose:

How to avoid the Scyth Dolls in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

When you first encounter the Scyth Dolls, you can avoid and get past most of them by seeking cover. Hiding behind the cover will prevent the dolls from seeing and attacking you. However, if you get caught, once or twice will be fine, and you won't die from their attacks. But eventually, if you keep getting caught, you will run out of health.

Because of this, we highly recommend checking your surroundings and hiding behind something. While hiding, wait for the Scyth Dolls to move away, freeing up an opening for you to pass. This method will work for the majority of the first and middle parts of the Doll basement. But eventually, you will need to switch up your tactics when you reach the spot shown below.

At this location, you will need to destroy the mold core shown above to cause the cage with the Rose doll to fall. Causing the cage will make the Scyth Dolls start attacking the cage, allowing you to pass. After passing the killer Dolls, you must repeat the same steps for the next part shown below.

To get past the four Scyth Dolls, head to the wooden boards and box marked with an arrow above. When you reach the wooden boards and box, turn around and destroy the mold core shown above. Doing so will allow you to pass again and continue inside the Doll basement. After the two cage puzzles, you must use the previous tactic of hiding and waiting to make it through the rest of the basement.

How to avoid Mother Dolls in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose DLC

To avoid the Mother Dolls in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose, you must follow the same steps as the Scyth dolls: Hide and wait for them to look away. For example, when you first meet the big Mother Doll in the basement, you will need to hide behind the large desk, as shown below.

Hide long enough, and eventually, the Mother Doll will start moving away, allowing you to escape. However, you will meet the huge Mother Doll again during the final sequence of the Doll Basement. During the final stretch, there is no real trick other than run like hell and keep your eyes out for a Mold Core when you reach a blocked door. You can find the Mold Core by looking up, as shown in our image below:
