How to get Platinum Crate in Roblox Tower Defense Simulator?

RIP Platinum Skincrate...

Platinum Skincrates was how Tower Defense Simulator (TDS) players could try their luck at unlocking a rare Platinum skin and a few buffs for their tower. Unfortunately for anyone today, these crates were only available from December 2019 to October 2020 and can no longer be obtained.

According to the TDS Wiki, on Oct. 29, 2020 all unopened Platinum Skincrates that players had to lay around in their inventory were converted into Premium Skincrates. All Platinum skins that were already applied to towers were simply lost.

Numerous types of Skincrates still exist and can be regularly purchased in TDS, including Basic, Toy, Golden, Premium, Deluxe, and even Skincrates that come and go depending on the seasons. All of these crates are purchasable with either in-game coins, Event Tickets, or Robux and offer a skin that ranges anywhere from common, uncommon, rare, or legendary rarity. Some skins offer additional buffs to your towers.

Before it was removed, the Platinum Skincrate required a great deal of trial and error to be obtained. Any player who wanted to unlock it needed to complete five levels of their choice on all four difficulties. Meaning whatever map you decided on would need to be completed on Beginners, Molten, Golden, and Fallen to count towards the Platinum Skincrate.

Beyond this requirement, extra conditions existed around unlocking the crate that upset a lot of players and probably aided in its eventual removal from the game. If you had already completed a map on every difficulty before the Platinum Skincrate was introduced, it was not allowed to count towards its unlocking. In addition, players discovered that it was best to finish one map at a time when working towards completing every difficulty. Once you worked through five maps and unlocked the Platinum Skincrate, all other maps would be reset to zero difficulties completed.

Overall the Platinum Skincrate wasn't received very well by fans, so don't feel bad if you couldn't grab one during the time frame. If you had, any remnants of its existence would have been deleted by now anyway!
