Roblox’s Ready Player Two event left incompletable after recent Dungeon Quest update

The end of an era.

To many players' disappointment, the Ready Player Two (RP2) event can no longer be completed as of December 27, 2022. Active since 2020, this event has offered players the opportunity to unlock a variety of free items for over two years. Now, in 2023, however, one of these items is completely unobtainable, and another is soon to follow.

With Dungeon Quest's December 26, 2022, update, the ability to obtain the Ready Player Two badge and, in turn, the experience-exclusive item, were removed. This item, the Chaotic Top Hat, could be obtained after completing the RP2 quest in Dungeon Quest, which involved collecting gems, deciphering a code, and defeating a boss. Upon completing this quest, players would obtain the Chaotic Top Hat item and Meet the developer! badge.

To fully finish the Ready Player Two event, users had to complete in-game quests in seven different Roblox experiences, Vehicle Simulator, SharkBite, Bad Business, Robloxian High School, Bee Swarm Simulator, Piggy, and Dungeon Quest. Once all the quests were completed and the corresponding badges were earned, players could return to the Ready Player Two Hub and exchange their badges for the free Meta Shades item. Now that the RP2 badge has been removed from Dungeon Quest, however, the Meta Shades can no longer be obtained, except by those who've already earned all seven badges before the update but have yet to turn them in.

For those saddened by this news, it's important to highlight that only the Meta Shades and Chaotic Top Hat have been removed—the other six badges and free items can still be obtained by following along with the guides below.

While it's unknown at the time of this article's publication whether or not the other participating experiences will follow suit, choosing to remove their RP2 badges in future updates, we'd assume that, given the discourse that's come from Dungeon Quest, they'll be around for at least a while longer.
