Updated September 19, 2026: Refreshed for the public release, with clearer best picks and clan pairings. Stone moves to A tier and Shockwave sits in A . All 41 clans, eight Breathing Styles, and nine Demon Arts are covered. However, for Serpent and several weapons I still need more time to properly evalute them.
Looking for the best clans, Breathing Styles, and Blood Demon Arts in Slayers 2? My overall picks are Kamado for clans, Water for Breathing, and Ice Manipulation for Demon Arts. This Slayers 2 tier list brings the rankings together, including weapons and useful clan pairings, so you can decide what to build around before spending your spins and materials.
Slayers 2 Tier List: Best Picks TL:DR
- Best overall clan: Kamado. A flexible combination of control, damage conversion, and survival tools.
- Best overall Breathing Style: Water. Sound and Wind are the other S-tier choices.
- Best overall Blood Demon Art: Ice Manipulation. Blood Manipulation is the other S-tier pick, particularly for coordinated boss fights.
- Weapons: Tanto Knife and Claws currently sit in A. The weapon comparison is incomplete, so neither is a confirmed best overall weapon.
These are early rankings for the public release, building on my early-access assessments. I weigh the complete kit: damage opportunities, control, mobility, defensive options, and clan synergy across PvE and PvP. Entries within a tier are not ordered. S means a leading recommendation, A means a strong alternative or specialist, B means a more limited or situational choice, and C means lower priority. TBA / Unranked means there is not enough evidence for a fair comparison, not that the option is weak.

Kamado is our best overall clan pick, with a broad mix of crowd control, damage conversion, and survival tools. Rengoku is particularly appealing for Flame builds, while Soyama and Uzui bring strong defensive and utility options. Himejima earns its place through damage marking, defensive buffs, and the ability to turn skill damage into stronger basic attacks. Iguro is another S-tier specialist to consider for Serpent builds. Shabana is the standout Legendary for coordinated groups: its Blood Demon Zone buffs both you and your party, while Blood Poison adds another offensive threat. Supreme rarity doesn't have a monopoly on useful abilities.
Don't overlook a good match further down the table. Urokodaki is an excellent Water option, combining extra Water damage, lower stamina costs, faster mastery, and damage reduction while wearing a mask. Sabito also supports Water and sword builds, while Ubuyashiki offers experience and drop bonuses alongside combat utility. The Uncommon clans have Family Bond passives, whereas Common clans rely on their stats. That's why I'd generally keep a useful specialist instead of burning every spin chasing a famous surname.

⇓ TO BE RANKED ⇓

Serpent
Water is my best overall Breathing recommendation, with Sound and Wind alongside it in S tier. Water offers a versatile mix of advancing attacks and aerial pressure. Sound suits players who want to control approaches with explosive beads, while Wind rewards careful spacing and follow-ups. Water also has several useful clan partners, so you have more than one way to build around it.
Flame, Insect, Thunder, and Stone sit in A tier. Flame suits direct aggression, Insect close-range pressure, and Thunder fast pursuit. Stone moves up from B because its counter and grab options make it a worthwhile choice for patient melee players. Serpent remains TBA, and Insect’s placement is still an early assessment. A strong clan pairing can make these specialists well worth sticking with.

Blood Manipulation

Ice Manipulation
⇓ VERY GOOD ARTS ⇓

Dream Manipulation

Reaper

Shockwave
⇓ DECENT ARTS ⇓

Arrow

Explosive Blood

Obi Manipulation

Tamari
Ice Manipulation and Blood Manipulation lead the Demon Art rankings. Ice is the broader recommendation for area control and flexible attacks. Blood Manipulation, also called Blood Sickle, is the S-tier alternative for coordinated boss fights. It requires a Sickle, so factor that weapon into your progression plans before committing.
Shockwave belongs in A alongside Dream Manipulation and Reaper. Its ranged opener, follow-up, and counter make it a strong choice for reactive aggression. Dream favors setups, while Reaper favors pursuit. Arrow, Tamari, Obi Manipulation, and Explosive Blood remain in B. These are ranked options, not missing entries; their narrower recommendations leave room for specialists to get more out of them.
For the full comparison, see our Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts Tier List. You may also see these called Evil Arts in-game. Keep clan effects separate from the art itself: Shabana's party bonuses can support a Demon build, but they are not innate Blood Manipulation skills.
Slayers 2 Weapons Tier List
| Preliminary tier | Weapons |
|---|---|
| A (early assessment) | Tanto Knife, Claws |
| Unranked | Flame Katana, Sickle, Stone's axe and flail, Sound's dual cleavers |
Tanto Knife and Claws remain A-tier options in my early weapon assessment. Tanto combines a barrage, a steerable spinning advance, and a thrown attack with an on-hit follow-up. Claws offer close-range pressure with retreating and advancing movement built into their skills. The comparison is still too limited to name one weapon the overall winner.
Choose a weapon that lets your build function first. Blood Manipulation requires a Sickle; its unranked status here does not make it optional or a bad investment for that build. Likewise, a high-ranking Breathing Style does not automatically establish the strength of its associated weapon. Flame Katana, Sickle, Stone’s axe and flail, and Sound’s dual cleavers stay unranked until their weapon performance can be compared properly.
Best Slayers 2 Clan and Style Combinations
Already rolled a useful clan? Start by checking whether it supports a style you enjoy. These are quick build directions, not mandatory pairings:
- Water + Urokodaki or Tomioka: Urokodaki supports efficient Water progression; Tomioka offers a more reactive build.
- Flame + Rengoku: A natural fit for the clan’s Flame and burn bonuses.
- Thunder + Agatsuma: A focused choice for Thunder damage and mobility.
- Wind + Shinazugawa: Build around the clan’s Wind bonuses.
- Sound + Uzui: Combine Sound’s kit with Uzui’s utility and defensive options.
- Stone + Himejima: Pair close combat with defensive tools and stronger basic attacks.
- Insect + Kocho / Serpent + Iguro: Style-specific pairings; Serpent’s own tier still needs assessment.
- Group Demon builds + Shabana: Its zone and nearby-party benefits reward fighting together.
Should You Reroll or Keep Your Current Build?
Keep a useful A-tier option while you progress. If its bonuses support your chosen style, a reroll is not automatically an upgrade. Decide what you want from the replacement before spending: more control, a better match for your style, or stronger party support. Chasing a famous surname without a plan is an excellent way to become broke with lore.
For PvE, value repeatable damage and enough stamina and survivability to finish the fight. For PvP, think about how you will approach, punish, and escape another player. A kit that works against regular enemies may behave differently against bosses or someone who blocks your opener. Unlock the core moves and learn their roles before deciding your entire build needs replacing.
Slayers 2 Tier List FAQ
The launch roster has 41 clans, eight Breathing Styles, and nine Blood Demon Arts, also called Evil Arts. Serpent is included in the roster but remains unranked here.
Not automatically. Keep a clan that supports the style you want to play, especially if you have few spins left. Urokodaki with Water and Agatsuma with Thunder are useful pairings even without an S-tier clan.
No. Some clan bonuses depend on a specific style, nearby allies, a mode, or another condition. Check which benefits your build can actually use before choosing a clan purely by its tier.
Yes. Evil Arts is another name used for Blood Demon Arts in Slayers 2. Blood Manipulation is also known as Blood Sickle, while Tamari is sometimes spelled Temari.
No. Returning styles and arts have reworked kits, and the sequel has different clan and combat interactions. Use rankings for Slayers 2 rather than assuming the original game’s best picks still dominate.
That covers the current all-in-one rankings. Use the individual tier lists for the finer details, and visit our Slayers 2 guides hub for progression, NPC locations, and walkthroughs.
