Updated September 21, 2026: Reworked all four rankings around the latest balance changes. Flame and Wind now lead Breathing, Shockwave joins Ice in S for Demon Arts, and Shinazugawa moves into the clan S tier. Blood Manipulation, Agatsuma, Iguro, and Kocho lose ground, while Water, Pyrokinesis, and Obi improve.
Looking for the best clans, Breathing Styles, Blood Demon Arts, and weapons in Slayers 2? My current overall picks are Kamado for clans, Flame for Breathing, and Shockwave for Demon Arts. Claws and Scythe lead my early weapon assessment. This Slayers 2 tier list brings the four metas together so you can see how the latest buffs and nerfs affect a complete build before spending spins, skill points, and materials.
Slayers 2 Tier List: Best Picks TL:DR
- Best overall clan: Kamado. Rengoku, Uzui, Soyama, Shinazugawa, and Himejima complete the current S tier.
- Best overall Breathing Style: Flame. Wind is the S-tier combo specialist, while Water climbs to A after major consistency buffs.
- Best overall Blood Demon Art: Shockwave. Its strict stun, steerable pressure, armored slam, and armor-breaking counter put it alongside Ice in S.
- Best early weapon picks: Claws and Scythe. Both receive meaningful buffs, but the broader weapon order remains more provisional than the other three lists.
These are early post-patch rankings. I weigh realistic damage windows, combo reliability, guard pressure, mobility, defensive tools, resource costs, and synergy across PvE and PvP. A guardbreak, strict stun, counter, or armored approach can be more valuable than a larger damage number that rarely connects. Entries within a tier run strongest or broadest first. TBA / Unranked means there is not enough comparable testing for a confident placement, not that the option is weak.

Kamado remains my best overall clan pick, with a broad mix of control, damage conversion, sustain, and Demon utility. Rengoku benefits from Flame’s improvements, Uzui gains a stronger 25% damage mark and simpler Musical Score capture, and Soyama remains excellent for counter-based pressure. Shinazugawa moves into S because Wind’s faster starters and new combo routes finally give its specialist bonuses a consistently strong home.
Himejima stays S despite its nerfs: its damage mark falls to 20% and its Block Point bonus to three, but the complete defensive package remains excellent. Agatsuma, Iguro, and Kocho move to A. Thunder gains more defensive counterplay, Iguro’s passive movement bonus falls from 25% to 5%, and shorter base poison arrives alongside Insect’s loss of i-frames and strict stun. Shabana also sits in A overall while retaining an S-tier ceiling for organized parties.

⇓ LESS CONSISTENT STYLES ⇓
Flame is my early best overall Breathing recommendation, with Wind alongside it in S. Flame’s counter now answers skills as well as M1s, X reaches farther, and held V starts faster. Wind receives quicker Z, X, and C startups; X can extend combos, and V no longer launches the opponent away. That is the kind of patch where a previously awkward kit suddenly remembers its attacks are supposed to work together.
Thunder, Stone, Water, Sound, and Serpent form a crowded A tier. Water makes the largest climb thanks to a strict-stun X extension, immediate held X, faster Water Wheel tap, and armor on the held version. Thunder remains dangerous but has a slower Z and perfect-blockable X. Sound loses much of its guard pressure, while Serpent loses range and group value on its grab. Insect drops to B after trading i-frames for armor, losing a strict-stun confirm, and taking heavier stamina and cooldown constraints.

Shockwave is my early best Blood Demon Art after the patch, with Ice Manipulation beside it in S. Shockwave’s projectile impact now applies strict stun, its barrages can be steered, its counter breaks hyper armor and buffs Z/C, and its slam gains armored tap and hold options. Ice receives no direct change and remains the broader area-control alternative.
Blood Manipulation drops to A after losing 35% V damage, its V strict stun, X’s final-hit guardbreak, and some cooldown efficiency. Pyrokinesis improves through tracking and steering; Obi gains 10% kit damage, armor on Z, and a V guardbreak; Dream gains homing ranged orbs. Arrow improves but stays B for now, while Tamari remains C. Reaper stays in the comparison for existing readers, though the balance notes classify it as a Fighting Style rather than a Blood Demon Art.
For the full comparison, see our Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts Tier List. You may also see these called Evil Arts in-game. Keep clan effects separate from the art itself: Shabana's party bonuses can support a Demon build, but they are not innate Blood Manipulation skills.
Slayers 2 Weapons Tier List
| Preliminary tier | Weapons |
|---|---|
| S | Claws, Scythe |
| A | Bladed Wagasa, Gauntlets, Spear, Tanto Knife |
| B | Axe and Mace, Shotgun, Sickles, War Fans |
| C | Cutlass |
| Unranked | Flame Katana, Sound’s Dual Cleavers, and other weapons without enough comparable post-patch testing |
Claws and Scythe lead my early weapon rankings. Claws Z gains 35% damage, turning both parts of the attack into a much more serious punish. Scythe Z receives a substantially larger hitbox, while the third hit of X gains strict stun. Those buffs improve both raw payoff and the chance of keeping the next attack connected.
The middle of the weapon list is much closer. Bladed Wagasa, Gauntlets, and Spear gain faster or harder-to-interrupt attacks, while Tanto’s faster Z is offset by losing projectile-throw i-frames. Sickles and War Fans lose some of their easiest confirms, and Cutlass takes direct damage and cooldown nerfs.
Axe and Mace gains 10% M1 damage but attacks 15% more slowly; its revised Damage Reduction value still needs formula testing. Hyper armor prevents interruption, not damage, so the Spear and Shotgun changes are not automatic buffs in every trade.
Best Slayers 2 Clan and Style Combinations
Already rolled a useful clan? Start by checking whether it supports a style you enjoy. These are quick build directions, not mandatory pairings:
- Water + Tomioka or Urokodaki: Tomioka supports active reset rotations; Urokodaki offers passive damage, efficiency, mask defense, and smoother progression.
- Flame + Rengoku: My early all-round Slayer recommendation, combining Flame’s improved counter and pressure with burn and strong offensive stats.
- Thunder + Agatsuma: Still an excellent pursuit build, but respect Thunder’s slower Z and perfect-blockable X rather than replaying old routes on autopilot.
- Wind + Shinazugawa: The standout post-patch specialist. Faster starters and better extensions make the clan’s damage and stamina bonuses easier to convert.
- Sound + Uzui: Uzui’s stronger damage mark helps offset Sound’s reduced guard pressure, while Musical Score is easier to operate with one activation.
- Stone + Himejima: A strong bruiser setup despite the clan nerfs. Stone gains a second-hit guardbreak and an armored ultimate, but its counter returns less often.
- Insect + Kocho / Serpent + Iguro: Both remain viable A-tier clan specialists, although shorter poison, lost Insect safety, reduced Iguro speed, and Serpent’s shorter range lower their consistency.
- Group Demon builds + Shabana: Its zone and party passives still offer excellent coordinated value. Do not build the setup around Blood Manipulation’s removed infinite combo.
Should You Reroll or Keep Your Current Build?
Keep a useful A-tier option while you progress. If its bonuses support your chosen style, a reroll is not automatically an upgrade. Decide what you want from the replacement before spending: more control, a better match for your style, or stronger party support. Chasing a famous surname without a plan is an excellent way to become broke with lore.
For PvE, value repeatable damage, area coverage, and enough stamina to survive the boss after your rotation ends. For PvP, distinguish strict stun from normal stun, i-frames from hyper armor, and true guardbreaks from ordinary guard damage. Once guardbreak stun ends, guard starts recharging from 25%; another hit cancels the recharge. A good build needs a realistic follow-up, not just an impressive first animation.
Slayers 2 Tier List FAQ
The launch roster has 41 clans and eight Breathing Styles, all ranked here. The Demon section contains eight Blood Demon Arts plus Reaper for comparison; the current balance notes classify Reaper as a Fighting Style.
Not automatically. A-tier specialists such as Agatsuma, Tomioka, Urokodaki, Iguro, and Kocho can still be excellent when their bonuses fit your build. Test the revised interactions before spending another spin.
No. Some bonuses depend on a particular style, party, mode, weapon, or successful counter. Shinazugawa earns S through the improved Wind pairing, while Uzui remains S even though Sound itself drops to A. Judge the complete build.
Yes. Evil Arts is another name used for Blood Demon Arts in Slayers 2. Blood Manipulation is also known as Blood Sickle, while Tamari is sometimes spelled Temari.
No. Returning styles and arts have reworked kits, and the sequel has different clan and combat interactions. Use rankings for Slayers 2 rather than assuming the original game’s best picks still dominate.
Flame is my early post-patch overall pick, with Wind alongside it in S. Flame offers the broader all-round kit; Wind is the stronger combo specialist. Water makes the biggest climb and now sits in A.
Shockwave is my early post-patch pick, with Ice Manipulation alongside it in S. Shockwave gains strict stun, steerable barrages, armored slams, and a counter that breaks hyper armor.
Claws and Scythe lead my early assessment after receiving major damage, hitbox, and strict-stun buffs. The weapon list remains more provisional than the clan, Breathing, and Demon Art rankings because several matchups and build requirements still need comparable testing.
Wind, Water, Flame, Shockwave, Pyrokinesis, Obi, Claws, and Scythe are among the main winners. Blood Manipulation, Sound, Insect, Sickles, War Fans, Cutlass, Iguro, Kocho, and Himejima lose parts of their previous strengths. Individual placements depend on the rest of the build.
That covers the current all-in-one rankings. Use the individual tier lists for the finer details, and visit our Slayers 2 guides hub for progression, NPC locations, and walkthroughs.
