Can you change your gender in Rune Factory 5?

Boy or girl?

While it won’t really affect gameplay nor the list of people you can marry, your gender in Rune Factory 5 does affect a number of things, such as the design of the clothes you wear and sub-scenarios you can watch. As such, it’s not wrong to want to change your gender midway through your playthrough. But can you?

The short answer is yes. You don’t need to start a New Game to change your character’s gender. After you’ve finished the main story and seen its credits for the first time, Eliza will offer you the opportunity to change your gender for 50 SEED Marks. Eliza is the small puppet in the Silo who issues Rigbarth directives.

You can even change your name! Simply go to one of the houses on the South of town called Professor & Renamer. The NPC who lives in it will allow you to change your nickname free of charge. Just don’t enter it during bedtime hours, since it’ll be locked. You can change your nickname any time, even before you’ve finished Rune Factory 5.
