How to get the Treasure Map in Sea of Thieves The Quest for Guybrush

Sea of Thieves and the Monkey Island Tall Tale part 2 sees you trying to rescue Guybrush from an enchanted sleep. But first, you must complete the Three Trials of Monkey Island.

I was a bit stumped when I began my trials, but thankfully, with some clever thinking and the right items, I could progress. That said, you'll need to get your hands on a Treasure Map.

Where to get the Treasure Map in The Quest for Guybrush - Sea of Thieves

As you walk through the town on Mêlée Island, you'll spot a familiar face in the Citizen of Mêlée. During The Quest for Guybrush Tall Tale, he has a single item for sale: a Treasure Map. It costs 1,000 Pieces o' Eight.

There is another way to get the Treasure Map, though. Instead of purchasing it, the Citizen of Mêlée is willing to trade it for a sea chart from the Governor, Guybrush Threepwood.

Where to find Guybrush’s Signed Sea Chart in Sea of Thieves

First, head to Guybrush's Mansion on Mêlée Island. Don't bother talking to Guybrush, as he is passed out asleep. Instead, stay on the main floor and go to the bookshelf to the left of the stairs.

You can interact with numerous books, but the one you want to check is on the top of the shelf next to the fish skeleton on the left of the bookshelf. Interact with the book to knock it on the floor. It will hit the ground and open to reveal a sea chart.

Head back to the Citizen of Mêlée, equip the sea chart, and offer it to him. He will then trade you the Treasure Map for Guybrush's Signed Sea Chart. After collecting this item, you'll still need the Rubber Chicken and Mighty Pirate Sword.

The Quest for Guybrush Treasure Map Guide (Do the Monkey) - Sea of Thieves

After clearing the fog on Mêlée Island, the path behind the Governor's Mansion opens, allowing you to follow the Treasure Map. Follow the path and turn right at the lamp post. You'll encounter a shed with painting supplies; behind it is the forest gate, the first clue for the map.

Cross under the forest gate and turn right until you reach the log bridge. Cross this and continue to the campfire. You'll encounter Guybrush's spirit, who points left, and you should head that way to the campfire.

Follow the path to the left and cross another log bridge. Keep going until you reach a group of yellow flowers. Continue to the light ahead of you, and you'll spot Guybrush digging. Dig where he was, and you'll uncover a chest. There is also a Memoir Spot here.

Do the Legendary Monkey Part 1

Turn around and return to the forest gate and artist's shack. Head toward the lantern post and turn right. Find the scarecrow on the ground and follow the daggers down the path. You'll pass a wagon and a slope; go down the slope between the two dead trees. Locate the fisherman's shack and dig up the chest directly in front of the fishing pole for your next set of directions.

Do the Legendary Monkey Part 2

Cross the bridge in front of you and go to the tree with a lantern. Take the right fork and keep walking until you come to a camp. Continue forward until the lamp posts, taking the right turn. Go down the hill and toward the big tree on your right. Dig underneath the heart for the next series of instructions.

Do the Legendary Monkey Part 3

Go left from the tree and find the lamp post with the zipline. Cross the zipline and head toward the shipyard. You'll know you are going the right way if you spot the string of flags. Cross the Troll Toll Bridge, pulling the lever if you haven't already. Find the broken wagon and turn left until you spot a light between two rocks. Enter the gap and dig under the lights to claim the idol, give it to Corina, and complete Trial of the Treasure-Huntery.
