Where to find Ancient Medallions in Sea of Thieves | Shroudbreaker Tall Tale

The Shroudbreaker medallions are hard to find, but our guide will help you with all of them!

In the previous parts of our guide for the Shroudbreaker Tall Tale, we went over how the Magpie's Ship's Log, the Ancient Chest, and the Ancient Vault. If you haven't completed one of those, we recommend going to that part of the guide and completing them before you continue here. In this section of the guide, we will tell you how to obtain the Ancient Medallions.

Sea of Thieves | Shroudbreaker Tall Tale | Where to find Ancient Medallions

Before we begin, we will provide you the list of every part of this guide, so you can easily go back or skip ahead to the part you're on. If you're certain you are at the point in the Tall Tale where you need to find the medallions, you can scroll down to Step One. All sections are shown in the list below.

SHROUDBREAKER JOURNAL LOCATIONS: Since the Journals are options, we did not include them in the main guide. If you wish to obtain them, follow the link above on Where to Find the Journal Locations. You are only able to do these while the Shroudbreaker Tall Tale is active!

Step One: Find the Medallions

Now that you have found the Vault and solved its puzzle, you'll notice that you haven't actually been rewarded with anything. That's because there is still more to do! Thankfully, you're no longer in a room that is quickly filling with water, so you can take your time completing this next part of the Tall Tale.

If you look at the Altar, you will see that it's surface has changed to a grayscale image. This image represents the spot where you need to dig to find the first Medallion. We have listed the locations of each Medallion below. Once you have retrieved the Medallion shown, you must return to and place it on the Altar.

The image on the Altar will change and show you the location of the next Medallion. You must find three Medallions this way. The general area shown in the image can sometimes be challenging to find if you're not familiar with the island. Still, the dig spots are easy to spot once you know what area they're located.

The best part about this is that it is all done on the same island on which you found the Ancient Vault! You don't have to do any more sailing until you've found all three Medallions and opened the tomb of The Shroudbreaker.

The downside is that once again, we don't know exactly where you are since you could be at the vault on any one of six islands. However, we've still made it easy for you to find the Medallions, as we've included their precise dig spots on all six islands. Assuming you remember which island you're on, you can scroll down to them or simply click the link below that matches your island.

  • Uncharted Island at N13 Medallions
  • Crescent Isle Medallions

N13 Island Medallions (Uncharted)

The Medallions on this island are a bit tricky since you have to swim for them. Since the island is uncharted, we can't provide an overhead view of where they will be. If you look below, though, you'll find we've provided screenshots of what the Medallions' locations look like in-game and some short descriptions of how to find them.

Crescent Isle Medallions

Step Two: Escape and Return The Shroudbreaker!

The Shroudbreaker in Sea of Thieves.

Upon returning all three Medallions to the Altar, a door made of rock will lower and reveal The Shroudbreaker! When you grab it, you'll likely be tempted to celebrate the fact that you just unlocked The Key to Adventure Commendation.

Instead of dancing, be ready to fight your way back to your ship, as dozens of tougher-than-usual skeletons will come out of the ground to attack you. You don't need to fight them. Instead, just get back to your ship as soon as possible. Once you're on it, set sail to any Outpost.

When you've reached an Outpost, go to the tavern and return The Shroudbreaker to the Mysterious Stranger. Upon doing so, you will complete The Shroudbreaker Tall Tale and receive The Shroudbreaker Commendation!

This completes this guide for this Tall Tale! From here, you have several options on what to do next! You can start the Tall Tale again and use our guide to get you through it, continue to find all the Shroudbreaker's Hidden Journals to unlock another commendation, or head to Plunder Outpost and start the next tale: The Cursed Rogue!
