What does Focus do in Sifu, explained

There is a lot that Sifu does not tell you, and one such thing is a vital mechanic called Focus. When you press LT or F when in combat, time will slow down to a crawl, and you can target a specific body part using the left analog or mouse to unleash a Focus Attack.

These attacks can really turn the tides of battle, especially when fighting against more formidable opponents.

How to use Focus Attacks in Sifu?

Of course, you cannot just spam this. There are constraints to be had. First, in the bottom left corner of the screen, a blue/green segmented gauge begins to fill up when you land blows in combat. Once one of these segments is filled, you can hold LT move the left analog until a move appears, then press RT or left-click.

This will spend the segment and unleash a Focus Attack. As you earn XP playing the game, you can spend it to learn more Focus Attacks. Some attacks need more focus segments filled, but the Focus Attack will cause more damage.

There are loads of Focus Attacks in Sifu, and some even involve weapons that cause devasting damage. These attacks even work against the game's bosses and may help you out when in a pinch.
