What does the fast travel message mean in Star Ocean Divine Force?

An odd warning message.

When you unlock fast travel in Star Ocean: The Divine Force, you get a warning message that 'you will be unable to witness certain events if you decide to fast travel to this location.' This message will appear every time you go to fast travel to any place on the World Map. Here's a guide explaining the fast travel message in Star Ocean Divine Force.

Fast travel message explained in Star Ocean Divine Force

The fast travel message in Star Ocean: The Divine Force essentially means you'll miss any dialogue that occurs between the party when you sprint from location to location by fast traveling. Most of the 'certain events' is the party giving you directions on where to go or giving you grief because you are going the wrong way. It rarely pertains to anything significant.

Even if there is essential dialogue at specific parts of the map, as you backtrack to certain areas, you'll never honestly know if you've missed anything if you fast travel. Sure, you can sprint from place to place to take in the beauty and massive areas that The Divine Force offers, but it'll increase the game time astronomically. Even if the game is fast-paced and you have access to D.U.M.A to jetpack from place to place.

Play Star Ocean: The Divine Force with a rule of thumb. If you're heading to a place for story-related content—sprint there, just in case. But if you're completing an optional quest or want to play a few games of Es'owa back in Delryrk Village—fast travel. It's doubtful anything substantial will be said about the story upon backtracking.
