How to taunt in Street Fighter 6

Come at me, bro!

Street Fighter 6 is a step in the right direction for the franchise, praised by many for its excellent graphics, selection of new characters, and, most of all, its superior fighting mechanics compared to its predecessor. Knowing your fighter and their fighting style is nothing if you cannot properly dominate your opponent. Performing a taunt is the ultimate instrument in asserting dominance and assuring your win is won both in the fighting ring and out. This guide will teach you how to be a true winner!

SF6 How to taunt

Performing a taunt in SF6 can be tricky, as you will have to press all of your kick and punch buttons simultaneously. Doing so will perform a taunt on all new characters as well as the old ones and will initiate a character-specific taunt animation. If you're playing with your Avatar character, you can customize the taunt animation by picking the one you like from the selection.

Since pressing all kick and punch buttons at the same time can be a challenging task, I strongly recommend remapping your buttons' layout to the SFV scheme. Doing so will give you more control as you will have all-kicks and all-punches buttons. Otherwise, you risk throwing a heavy kick or a heavy punch, putting you at a severe disadvantage.

Despite it seeming so, taunting your opponents is not purely for showing off. It can also be used as a luring tactic by performing a carefully-timed taunt to get your adversary to attack you, only to set them up for a nice combo. Playing a game this way ensures you're setting the tempo of the fight, giving you more control in combat and boosting you with confidence, which you can't underestimate in fighter games.
