To begin gifting your Master and increasing your Bond, you'll first need to acquire the item for the gifting. You can do this in a few ways: Earning them from quests, winning them from battles, or buying them at a shop. You can check what items you will receive from fighting NPCs by opening up the details with Y or Triangle before initiating a fight. However, most of the preferred gift items are usually purchased from the shops, requiring you to save up some Zenny.

The best way to earn Zenny fast to buy all the gifts you need is to look for the Part Time Jobs around the map. These will be different mini-game-type tasks to complete. You'll want to play them on Hard difficulty to earn the most Zenny out of it. There are several spread around various areas of Metro City; you can find them by the stacked Zenny icon on your map. The Scrap Heap ones are some of the best since you can keep replaying them and increasing your earnings quickly.

You can also upgrade your Pay Day skill in your Skill Tree to increase the amount of Zenny you earn as well. It costs 9 Skill Points to unlock, and you must be at a high enough level for it to appear, but well worth focusing on when you get the chance.

Now that you know how to acquire gifts in the game, you'll want to try and give the proper gifts to each Master to make the best of them and increase your Bond efficiently. All types of gifts will raise Master Bond by 1-3 points, but they also have preferred gifts to receive, giving them 5+ Bond. To give a Master a gift, approach them by pressing the button next to the option Gift; on Xbox, it is X, and on PlayStation, Square.
