Teamfight Tactics – Can you demote from masters in TFT?

Demoted in ranked?

Teamfight Tactics features a ranked mode for players to test their skills in competitive matches. Players can earn rewards for rising through the ranks during seasons. Ranked mode is broken up into nine tiers: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger. Teamfight Tactics seasons are fairly short, so after grinding to the highest ranks, players may wonder if they can be demoted.

No, you cannot demote below Masters in Teamfight Tactics. Since the 11.22 update, players in tiers Iron to Master will no longer be demoted in rank. However, you can still demote divisions within your current rank.

Each division below Masters contains four divisions. However, once you reach Masters, the LP system determines how you need to rank up. As long as you are able to make it to a higher rank during the season, you will not be demoted unless you reach Grandmaster or Challenger.

Teamfight Tactics Ranked Decay explained

Starting at Master rank, you can bank up to 10 matches, and every day, you lose one banked match. If you run out of banked matches, you will lose 250 LP every day. You will still not be in danger of losing your Master rank, but losing LP will prevent you from moving up divisions.
