How to unlock the Minecraft rocks! achievement in Terra Nil

Terra Nil is a city-building game with a difference, as this eco-friendly sim has you placing buildings strategically to rebuild a barren land’s ecosystem. Then, once nature has returned, you’ll need to remove all your buildings again to let the wildlife thrive. The game is available on Steam for PC, as well as for mobile via the Netflix app. Where there is Steam, you’re going to find achievements. Terra Nil achievements – Completing Minecraft Rocks!

The Minecraft rocks! Steam achievement doesn’t list how to complete it until you’ve done so, which can be frustrating. The answer (spoiler alert) is, Create rock by causing lava and river to meet. While this isn’t a simple task, once you know what you need to do, it is something you should be able to set up in your next run-through. You’re going to have to have made it to the third area, the Volcanic Glacier challenge in the Polar Region, to attempt it, as this is the first time you’ll come across lava on a map.

There are several ways to complete the Minecraft rocks! achievement once you’re on a Polar map, but the most straightforward is:

1. Use Seismic Detonators so that at least one of your lava flows reaches the sea.
2. Continue the level, but when you’re using Igneous Heatsinks to cover the lava flows with stone, make sure at least one lava flow is still reaching the sea. It only needs to be a few blocks.
3. Once you reach the animal surveys stage, do what you need to do to make it snow. As soon as the temperature is cold enough for this to happen, any remaining lava will disappear and the block where the water met the lava will turn into a rock, giving you the achievement you need.
