Is there a New Game + in The Callisto Protocol?

Time to speedrun?

The Callisto Protocol follows the Survival Horror trope of having a limited inventory, punishing gameplay, and long checkpoints. Along with these elements, the game does not have a New Game Plus, making it impossible to start from the beginning with upgraded gear. There are ways of playing specific chapters, but for players trying to find everything in the game for trophies and achievements, they will have to make sure they find everything in one go. Without a New Game Plus mode, you may be wondering if there is replay value to The Callisto Protocol.

Is there a New Game Plus mode or replay value in The Callisto Protocol?

There is not a New Game+ mode for The Callisto Protocol, and there is no way to backtrack to previously explored areas in the game after reaching specific checkpoints. Along with having no navigation system, this means that players can advance the plot by accident without exploring other areas.

There are a number of Auto Saves that can help with preventing this sort of thing from happening, and manual saving after every chapter will help players to go back to specific points. While there is no incentive to replay the game, there may be other reasons players want to go back. Using different weapons and upgrades or completing the game faster are essentially the only reasons players may want to go back.
