To make a Spear in Tribes of Midgard, you must gather six wood and then visit the Tinker in Saga mode. If you are playing in Survival mode, you must craft a Tool Grinder with three flint. After crafting the Tool Grinder, you can make a starting Spear called the Villager spear, just like in Saga mode, with six wood.

To unlock more Spear crafting recipes in Tribes of Midgard, you must upgrade the Tinker Village Crafting Station in Saga mode. You can upgrade the Tinker Village Crafting station using souls gathered from fallen enemies, chests, etc. Here's the full amount of souls you need to upgrade the Tinker to max level:
- Level Two: 250 Souls
- Level Three: 500 Souls
- Level Four: 1k Souls
- Level Five: 1500k Souls
However, if you want to unlock Spear variants in Survival mode, you will need to upgrade the Tool Grinder crafting station. You can upgrade the Tool Grinder by gathering required resources, similar to how players upgrade worksites in Saga mode. You can check what resources you need to upgrade the Tool Grinder by accessing the Upgrade menu on the Tool Grinder. To access the Upgrade menu, press the G or use key.
Checking the Upgrade menu will display all required resources to upgrade the Tool Grinder to the next level. Once you know what resources you need, you can easily find all resources in Tribes of Midgard by checking the various biomes in-game. After upgrading the Tool Grinder or Tinker NPC, you can craft the following Spear weapons depending on the crafting station level.
