How Fishing works in Tribes of Midgard

Learn to fish!

Fishing is a feature added with the Inferno Saga update that allows users to fish and gather different types of fish. The fish and other resources like Kelp players can gather can then be used in various cooking recipes such as Fish Skewer and Heatproof Seafood.

To get various Fish in Tribes of Midgard, you must craft a Fishing Rod. After getting a Fishing pole, players can start fishing by locating Mysterious Ripples on the banks of Rivers and water sources. At these Mysterious Ripples, you need to have a Fishing Rod equipped. If you have a Fishing pole already equipped, you can hit the F or use key to start fishing. 

Once you are fishing in Tribes of Midgard, you must wait for an indicator and press the F or use the key again to reel in your fish. After reeling in, you will gain one of the following types of Fishing resources in Tribes of Midgard:

  • Cod
  • Kelp
  • Herring
  • Salmon

How to craft a Fishing Rod in Saga Mode

To craft a Fishing Rod in Saga Mode, you must visit the Tinker NPC, and have four branches and one flint in your inventory. Four branches and one flint will craft the starting Fishing Rod called the Flint Fishing Rod. If you want to craft the other variants of the Fishing Rod you must gather the following resources and upgrade the required crafting station.

  • How to make a Stone Fishing Rod:
    • One Flint Fishing Rod
    • Four stone
    • Level two Tinker station
  • How to make a Silver Fishing Rod:
    • One Stone Fishing Rod
    • Four stone
    • Two Silver
    • Level three Tinker station
  • How to make a Crystal Fishing Rod:
    • One Silver Fishing Rod
    • Six Cut Stone
    • Four Silver
    • Three Amethyst
    • Level four Tinker station
  • How to make a Gold Fishing Rod:
    • One Golden Horn
    • Two Gold
    • 4 Cut Stone
    • One Silver Fishing Rod
    • Level five Tinker station

How to craft a Fishing Rod in Survival Mode

To make a Fishing Rod, you must build a Tool Grinder with three flint. After making a Tool Grinder, you can upgrade it to unlock advanced Fishing Rod crafting recipes. To upgrade the Tool Grinder, walk up and press the G key.
