The next evolution in Valheim meat cooking is a hearth, but how does one upgrade from a simple campfire to a hearth fit for a king?
How to get a hearth in Valheim
To build a hearth in Valheim, you must first unlock the ancient secrets of stone cutting and make a stonecutter; you can do this by merely unlocking iron. Once unlocked, you will build a stone cutter and then a hearth with a hammer tool for 15 stones.
To place a hearth down, right-click the hammer and then move to the misc tab, but before you place it, make sure you are doing so on the ground as it will dismantle when placed on wood or stone floors.
Along with this, you will need to make sure it is close to the stonecutter when you place your hearth down or in the same area as you as it. When you place the hearth down, you will be able to use it similar to the campfire, but you will be able to fit even more cooking stations on it.
If you have trouble placing the cooking stations, we recommend starting by placing one down on end and then working your way to the other side of the hearth. Slowly move the cooking station until it turns green; when it turns green, place it and move on to the next one, rinse and repeat.
You should have at least ten cooking stations on one hearth after you are done; let us know in the comments below if you were able to fit more on the hearth!
