How to whisper to someone/teammate in Valorant

In a competitive game like Valorant, it is necessary to communicate with your teammates to discuss strategies and tactics. Apart from the group chat, the best way to contact your mates is to send a direct message to them. To whisper or send a direct message in Valorant, you will need to type in your friend's name, followed by your message in the chat bar.

Sending a direct message to your friend in Valorant

• Open the chatbox by pressing enter during a match. You can locate the chatbox on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.

• Press Tab and input the first few letters of your friend in the chatbox, and choose your friend's name from the auto-suggestion.
• If you have selected correctly, you can see your friend's name as a prefix on the chatbox.
• Now, type in the message you wish to share and press the enter button to send it.

• You can access the personal chatbox of the last person by pressing Ctrl + Enter. 

Remember, you cannot send direct messages to any unknown person without befriending them. So make sure you send a friend request before trying to chat with them.
