Everything announced at the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase April 2022

The recent Meta Quest Gaming Showcase event had some major updates on titles slated to arrive by next year. In addition to the games presented today, several others are currently under development, which just weren't ready to be showcased yet. That being said, here's a summary of everything announced at the event.

Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution

The developers of Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, Skydance Interactive, are adding a new expansion pack to the game later this year. In Chapter 2: Retribution, you'll get to explore a different and more dangerous New Orleans.

NFL PRO ERA

NFL PRO ERA is a Super Bowl game developed by StatusPRO. It is the first officially-licensed NFL game on VR. The game can be played alone and with other players as multiplayer in a more competitive environment.

Among Us VR

The global sensation from 2020, Among Us, was announced for Meta Quest 2 during last year's Game Awards. It has now been confirmed that the developers at InnerSloth, Robot Teddy, and Schell Games will be launching the game by the end of 2022.

Red Matter 2

A much awaited successor to Red Matter has been confirmed for Quest 2 in Summer 2022. The sci-fi game developed by Vertical Robot takes your from a base on the moon to a space station orbiting Saturn. Just like the previous game, your objective is to stop the red matter from spreading to save humanity.

Espire 2

Tripwire Presents and Digital Lode are developing a sequel to Espire 1: VR Operative. In Espire 2, you play the role of a spy with the ultimate goal to locate and stop the launch of a supersonic missile. The game can also be experienced in co-op, which follows a different story.

Moss: Book II

Arriving this summer is Moss: Book II, an action-adventure game developed by Polyarc. In the game, you play as Quill, a young mouse who has to figure out a way to defeat Arcane, the antagonist.

RUINSMAGUS

RUINSMAGUS is a brand new role-playing game for Quest 2 in which you explore a hidden realm in search of powerful artifacts. The game, developed by Character Bank, features some well-known voice actors, including Naomi Ohzora, Ai Maeda, Eiji Takemoto, and more.

Cities: VR

Cities: VR is bringing the immensely popular city-building simulator genre to Quest 2. The title is being developed by Fast Travel Games. You can pre-order the game starting April 28 for a discount of 10 percent.

Resident Evil 4 - The Mercenaries

The highly anticipated game mode, The Mercenaries, is now available in Resident Evil 4 VR for free. Armature Studios have developed the mode in collaboration with Oculus Studios and Capcom. The update features new online leaderboards, modes, weapons, and challenges, completing which can unlock special rewards.

Beat Saber - Electronic Mixtape

After the successful release of OST5 and a Fall Out Boys music pack, Beat Saber is getting yet another major update this year. The upcoming Electronic Mixtape edition will feature tracks from deadmau5, Marshmello, Pendulum, and others.

Bonelab

Bonelab, a survival game developed by Stress Level Zero, has been claimed in the event to be "one of the most realistic and immersive VR games to-date." After spawning in a creepy underground lab, your objective is to stay alive and discover new combat and survival techniques.

Ghostbusters VR

The biggest announcement of the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase has to be Ghostbusters VR. nDreams is creating a VR adaptation of one of the biggest franchises in pop culture. Operating from San Francisco, you’ll hunt ghosts while trying to save the world from an unknown threat.
