How to fix Darktide game won’t launch after install error

Sometimes after installing Darktide, players will find that no matter what they do, the Launcher won't start the game. The Launcher won't work, or the game won't launch error is a bug that has persisted since the closed beta for Darktide. The error usually appears whenever players try to launch the game after a fresh install. Trying to fix the Launcher with easy fixes, like verifying files or restarting the game, has not fixed the problem for most players either. Luckily the error is not permanent or hard to solve as it seems.

How to fix the Darktide launcher not working after install error

To fix the Launcher won't start the game error in Darktide, users must navigate to the game's AppData folder and delete a file that causes an error when trying to launch Darktide. In one Reddit post, one user describes having to delete the user_settings_fps.config file to get rid of the error. We recommend checking the log yourself inside the AppData folder for Darktide and deleting whatever file mentioned that is causing the error. After deleting the problem file inside the AppData folder, you should be able to relaunch the game and have it fully load. If this is not the case, you may need to enable Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling under Windows settings. You can enable the Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling setting by visiting your Windows settings page. Under Windows Settings, locate the display Option and then the Graphics option under it.
