World of Warcraft datamine hints at Fortnite crossover

World of Warcraft meets Fortnite.

World of Warcraft and Fortnite may not seem like a good pairing on the surface, but it's looking like there might be a crossover. Here's what we know about it.

Fortnite crossover coming to World of Warcraft?

Prominent Fortnite leaker FireMonkey shared an image of a leaked World of Warcraft character model named Renegade Looter. It looks to be modeled after the Renegade Raider, a popular character from Fortnite.

Usually, we see crossovers happen within Fortnite instead of the other way around, so it's interesting to see World of Warcraft having this model in its files. The skin isn't the only hint this crossover is happening though; a full list of potential abilities has also been discovered.

Renegade Raider boss in World of Warcraft

The Renegade Looter, as it's called in the files of WoW, will have a bunch of abilities if it ever sees the light of day. We probably won't be seeing this in a raid setting, but it could be a fun side event if Blizzard and Epic decide to crossover.

According to Wowhead, these are the abilities the Renegade Looter has in the 10.1.7 PTR files.

  • Cranking 90s: The Renegade looter rapidly constructs a tower to gain the high ground.
  • One Pump: The Renegade Looter carefully aims a deadly shotgun blast, inflicting 1000 Fire damage to any players hit.
  • Shockwave Bomb: The Renegade Looter throws a Shockwave Bomb at the ground, knocking them and players away.
  • Slurp Drink: The Renegade Looter slurps refreshing juice, healing for 2% health every 1 sec.
  • Disco Bomb: The Disco Bomb explodes, causing anyone within 3.5 yards to dance uncontrollably and increase damage taken by 50% for 5 sec.
  • High Ground: While on the high ground, the Renegade Looter's damage taken is reduced by 99%.
  • Glug Jug: Consume the Glug Jug to restore full health.
  • The Storm: The Storm inflicts 10 Nature damage every 1 sec to players not within its eye.

All of these abilities have Fortnite-related names. Cranking 90s refers to build battles while one pump is of course being eliminated with one shot by the Pump Shotgun. What many people might be wondering is whether this will lead to a character like Thrall showing up in Fortnite. As of right now, it's tough to say. No franchise is off the table for Epic Games, so a WoW crossover might be in the cards for them down the line.
