Two Echo drops in Wuthering Waves.

If you AFK next to fighting Echoes in Wuthering Waves, you can still get the drops

Place your bets!

Occasionally, you'll come across Echoes that are fighting each other in Wuthering Waves. This only occurs when two types of Echoes spawn next to each other that aren't similar Echoes. When these Echoes start fighting, it turns out that you can wait out the fight and still get the Echo drops from them if there are any.

For example, a pack of Echoes containing Fusion Dreadmanes and Havoc Dreadmanes typically won't fight each other, but another Echo wandering close to Dreadmanes will find themselves surrounded. You can go AFK during these kinds of fights and come back to possible Echo drops.

This works best when you're within the target distance of the Echoes (where you can see their health bars), but far enough away that you won't draw them towards you while you're not able to defend yourself.

To benefit from this, you will need to find a group of Echoes who are already fighting with one another. These aren't everywhere in Huanglong, so it's best to explore a little and map out a few places that definitely have incompatible Echoes.

There are a few places I've found on the map that almost always have warring Echoes:

2. East of Qichi Village, just off the path, there is a Havoc Dreadmane and three Sabyr Boar Echoes that occasionally fight. Sometimes the boars aren't there, but the Dreadmane always respawns in the same location.

3. On the coast of the Tiderise Cliff, you can find two Fusion Dreadmanes and a Havoc Dreadmane beating up a Spearback Echo.

To use the Tiderise Cliff Echoes as an example of this feature in the game, here are the fighting Echoes that I mentioned above. I flew down from the cliff and saw them engaged in combat, so I knew this was my chance to land and stop paying attention for a couple of minutes.

I watched the Spearback lose to the Dreadmanes, and an Echo was dropped without my Rover getting involved at all. (If anyone needs extra proof, my health status is the exact same in both images.)

You can also get Echo drops from battles involving Echoes and Midnight Rangers, as well as Echoes fighting Exiles and other human enemies.

The Echoes that drop will follow the Echo Pity system, so be aware of that if you're someone who keeps track.
