Best Attackers in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Attacker Class Tier List

Combat is an art, but so are combat arts.

For a series like Xenoblade Chronicles, known for its epic fights and group combat utilizing its hero characters, damage is a key component, and the more damage, the better. Thus, knowing which attackers are the strongest can be very helpful for optimizing your team. To that end, here is a tier list for the attacker class in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that considers overall power and ease of accessibility.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Attacker Class Tier List

S Tier

  • Noah: Noah is simultaneously one of the game's most powerful and accessible attackers. Being available from the start of the game to the end is a major advantage, and Noah devastates enemies with his Sword StrikeEdge Thrust, and Shadow Eye abilities.
  • Sena: Sena is S tier for the same reasons as Noah: she is equally powerful and accessible, being available early on and hitting like a freight train. Maximum Voltage serves as a power boost for her Big Impact and Hammerhead abilities, allowing her to take down enemies with just a few swings at times.

A Tier

  • Cammuravi: Stepping out of the two main characters, Cammuravi is the next best attacker. However, Cammuravi can be a challenge to wield to his full potential as he is a self-damaging character who thrives at low HP levels. Provided you can keep him unhealthy but alive, Cammuravi hits very hard with his Leveling Fire skill, putting him easily just below the two main character attackers.
  • Ghondor: A martial artist, Ghondor dishes out loads of damage as long as she's front and center. This also means that she can be overwhelmed by large groups, but assuming you are supporting and healing her enough, her rapid punches will quickly flatline large groups. Her kit is synergistic, with Focus reducing cooldowns with auto attacks alongside Hyper Dropkick and Comet Punch for both raw damage and survivability.

B Tier

  • Gray: One of the game's ranged characters, Gray is a dual-wielding pistoleer. Utilizing both drones and long-ranged fire allows Gray to lay down punishment while staying safe. Specifically, Gray's attacks deal serious AoE damage. Both Demolition and Fatal Barrage damage every enemy caught in their effects, making Gray perfect for mowing down groups of enemies.
  • Triton: Striking a balance between attack and defense as an attacker may sound like a poor trade-off, but Triton is the exception as he gets the best of both worlds. Sporting solid HP and defense and very high attack and dexterity gives Triton a big advantage over squishier attackers. This is further exemplified by Ultra Boost, an ability that gives Triton a damage increase and a decrease for the damage he takes.
  • Juniper: Being one of the two long-range attackers means that Juniper is fairly easy to manage. On top of that, Juniper can deal plenty of damage given that you understand how her attacks work. For example, Downdraft will inflict a bleed on enemies if Juniper hits them from behind, while Liberation Arrow deals extra damage when hitting an enemy from the side. Managing these bonuses and positioning correctly will reward you greatly.
  • Ethel: Though able to dish out great damage, Ethel has a similar problem to Cammuravi due to her frailty. Keeping Ethel alive can be challenging, but she will reward you if you do. Her Acceleration increases her attack and art speeds at the cost of defense, feeding into her frailty problem and massively increasing damage output. Meanwhile, Ethel wants to attack from behind with Swallowtail due to the major bonus to rear attacks.

C Tier

  • Segiri: Known as a "machine assassin," Segiri is the only character that can permanently pilot a mech. This brings her big advantages in both defense and HP. She has no problem dishing out damage with her Chaos Drain and Phantom Strike. Her only issue is the massive amount of tedious side quests required to unlock her.
  • Alexandria: Wielding a whip-like sword, Alexandria is a melee-range menace. Her devastating physical sword slashes pack a massive punch, but unfortunately, her power is offset by her frailty. Managing her health, especially against large groups, will be integral to making sure Alexandria can lay waste to enemies.

D Tier

  • Riku and Manana: A strange character that is actually two characters in one, Riku and Manana are both a sword and a shield together. Their main power comes from the bevy of debuffs they can apply to enemies and the buffs they give to allies. However, though they have a shield, they are incredibly frail, making them very hard to manage in a fight.
  • Melia: Wielding devastating elemental powers that deal damage and help allies should rocket Melia much higher on this list. However, Melia faces a massive problem because you cannot unlock her until you have completed the game's main story. This is beyond a drawback for the character, making her a complete non-factor when deciding on your attackers.
