The combat within GhostWire: Tokyo is a mix of elemental magic and martial arts called Ethereal Weaving. Based on the showcase, the elements will be wind, fire, and water. Wind appears to also include a few electric abilities and each element has a different colored blocking force field. Players will be able to upgrade each elemental skill tree and enhance the related abilities to make them deadlier and pull off special kills.

Ethereal Weaving Abilities

  • Wadatsumi I - Allows the player to shoot three shots at a time with Water Weaving
  • Shinatsuhiko I - Increases the number of shots fired for charged Wind Weaving

Outside of fighting abilities, there are also ones meant specifically to make traversing the city easier.

  • Tengu - Grapple and maneuver around using this string-like ability by throwing it up into the sky.
  • Spectral Vision - Highlights visitors and points of interest nearby.
