All changes to Private Matches for Apex Legends Season 12: Defiance

From a Kill Feed toggle, to disabled Club features.

Apex Legends tends to make many changes that affect a wide variety of players, but the developers are also working hard to update private matches and the tournament scene. A lot of the Private Match changes are great for Quality of Life and bug fixing, though a couple of new functions have been added too. Let’s take a look.

Observer Mode Changes

  • In Free Cam you can now toggle the Kill Feed on and off
  • Ring Visibility on the Minimap has been fixed
  • Kill calculations for the Status & Stats screen have been fixed

Application Programming Interface (API) Changes

  • Now shows what is currently equipped by a player via new weaponSwitched
  • squadEliminated and matchStateEnd now have player names
  • observerSwitched now has squadmate names
  • Item no longer appear as Unrecognized
  • characterSelected event will now properly populate
  • The Unique Player IDs from the Real-Time API are now also in the Post-Game API

Note: The bolded terms refer to specific Real-Time API events.

General Changes

  • Teams with default names now have better Stats Summary generation
  • Club features are now disabled in Private Matches
