How to find the Red Door to the Basement in the MADiSON horror game

When Luca finds out he is possessed in MADiSON, he has a dizzy spell that prompts him to check his journal. On the page is the Red Door to the basement of his grandfather's home. You must now journey downstairs and find this door to delve deeper into this terrifying game's story.

How do you find the Red Door in MADiSON?

To get to the Red Door in MADiSON, you'll have to find a tucked-away passage within the basement. Head down the main stairs and enter the basement room that has the generator. Head into the next room past the breaker panel to see a narrow room that has a supply shelf at the end. Head all the way to the end of this room so you are in front of the shelf. Look to your right and you'll see a very narrow hallway space.

How to get through the narrow hallway

Once you located the vertical crawl space type corridor in the basement, approach it. You'll notice you've approached it the right way if your inventory and camera can no longer be pulled out. Keep moving forward until you get all the way to the other side of the corridor. Now, you'll be at the top of the steps that lead down to the Red Door on your right-hand side.

How do you open the Red Door in MADiSON?

To unlock the Red Door, go down the steps a bit and get closer to the door. Don't get too close, as you need to have a full view of the door still. Take out your camera and line up your shot. After taking a photo of the door, your vision will violently sway for a moment. Shake the photo out to develop it and notice the police caution tape around the Red Door in the picture. Once you have taken the photo of the Red Door and developed it, the door will unlock. You can now step through and start the next part of the MADiSON story.

Do you need a key to open the Red Door in MADiSON?

There are a lot of doors and containers that require specific keys in MADiSON. While you're playing, you may find yourself questioning every door or item on whether or not it needs a key. The good thing is, as long as you take a picture of the Red Door, it will unlock. You do not need a key for the Red Door.
