Mining, excavation, farming, and hunting are some of the most basic activities that players can perform in Dinkum. The open-world game has many rare items to be collected, one of them being the Shiny Stones. Here's a guide on where to find and how to open a Shiny Stone in Dinkum.
Where to find Shiny Stones in Dinkum
Shiny Stones are rare items that spawn randomly across the island, which you can find while mining and excavating. There is no specific area on the map where the location of these valuable stones can be directed at. As such, if you get your hands on one of these, you can break it down for some valuable resources.
How to open Shiny Stones in Dinkum
To successfully harvest Shiny Stones in Dinkum, you need to obtain the following three items first:
- Logging License: Buy this for 250 Permit Points from Fletch to be able to mine rocks and buy axes. Permit Points can be easily acquired by completing Milestone tasks listed in your journal.
- Basic Axe: Get the Basic Axe from John for 1,200 Dinks and use it to mine rocks.
- Stone Grinder: While the first two items in the list are rather inexpensive, the Stone Grinder can be unlocked once you've played the game quite a bit and accumulated enough money. It costs 10,000 Dinks and can be purchased from John, the same shopkeeper you bought the axe from.
While the Logging License and Basic Axe are required to mine any rock in Dinkum, the Stone Grinder is needed to craft specific items from these mined stones such as bags of cement and mineral ores. You can put your collected Shiny Stones one at a time in the Stone Grinder machine. The grinder will operate for a while and give you some valuable items such as Opal, Copper Ore, Iron Ore, and more.
