WoW Battlehorn Pyrhus Spawn Time and Where To Find

This is one elusive elephant.

In past World of Warcraft expansions, exploration could not only be an interesting pastime, but a rewarding one as well. This is even more so the case for Dragonflight, where the Dragonriding mechanic has made traversing the land so much smoother and more fun. This has increased the love of exploration among the player base while also making the hunting of rare spawns more fun as well, leading to more players seeking out these spawns. To that end, many players are wondering where exactly they can find the Battlehorn Pyrhus rare spawn, as its location is a bit of a mystery. However, once one knows this rare enemy's spawn time and location, it is easy to begin farming it for its rare loot.

Battlehorn Pyrhus location

As shown in the map above, the Battlehorn Pyrhus can be found right in front of the Obsidian Citadel and very close to the entrance of the Neltharus dungeon. Because of this, you'll want to be max level before heading there and use Dragonriding to quickly arrive. Furthermore, very close to the dungeon entrance is a flight path you'll want to grab, especially if you plan on returning to farm this rare spawn again. This will most likely be the case, as like dungeon bosses, Battlehorn Pyrhus seems to drop loot for everyone except you.

Battlehorn Pyrhus spawn time

First off, you should know that the exact spawn time for Battlehorn Pyrhus is unknown. However, many players who have farmed or are currently farming the rare spawn report that its spawn time is around an hour or a little more. Though not as egregious as other rares, this does make quickly farming the mob quite the chore. The best thing to do while you're waiting for the respawn is to go check out other rare mob spawning locations, both to kill time and try your chances at some good loot.

Battlehorn Pyrhus fight

The Battlehorn Pyrhus itself isn't an overly tough adversary. It has three abilities:

  • Trample - The rare will cast this ability before quickly charging at its target, dealing damage to anyone caught under its feet.
  • Magma Gout - The rare will cast a spell that launches a bunch of lava bolts into the air. These will then land, dealing damage to anyone caught in their impact zone.
  • Lava Buffet - The rare will instantly cast a spell that launches a wave of lava in a frontal cone, dealing damage and knocking anyone hit around 20 yards away.

None of these abilities are particularly devastating in terms of damage unless you are undergeared for the area. However, by far the most dangerous ability is the Lava Buffet. This is due to the fact that the ability sends you flying backwards, and since there are so many other elite enemies in the area, being launched backwards into one of them can spell doom for you or your group.
