Best Weapons to use in XDefiant (Beta)

Choose your weapon in XDefiant.

Ubisoft's XDefiant beta has shown there's more than enough room for another shooter to enter the market. Players have been able to get a long look at what's being offered, server issues and all, and it's more than enough to get a feel for the best weapons.

Best weapons in XDefiant Beta

Between Assault Rifles, SMGs, Snipers, Shotguns, etc., there's a lot for players to sift through and find out what works best for them. A lot of this does come down to player preferences, but once players decide what type of gun they want to use, they'll need to narrow it down even further to find out the best in its class.

Best Assault Rifle in XDefiant

While the AK-47 might do more damage, the M4A1 will likely be the fan-favorite here when it comes to Assault Rifles. The M4A1 is easy to pick up gun and will feel familiar to shooter fans, so there's not exactly a big learning curve here.

Since this is a beta, there's time to give each of the four Assault Rifles a whirl. Ultimately, we suspect players will gravitate toward the M4A1, and for a good reason.

Best SMG in XDefiant

Like the Assault Rifle, there are four SMGs to choose from in XDefiant. SMGs are more about close-range combat, and guns like the MP7 and P90 excel at that. It's a tossup between the two guns for us, but the MP7 gets the edge here.

There's no harm in trying all four SMGs to see what works best, but it's tough to go wrong with a pick like the MP7. We're sure even Vector has fans, and maybe you're one of them.

Best LMG in XDefiant

There are only two LMGs to choose between in XDefiant, so this one does come down to personal preference. Of the two, the RPK might be the slight favorite.

LMGs don't tend to be all that popular in these types of games, but it's always fun to fire what seems like a bottomless clip at unsuspecting enemies. Feel free to give the M60 a try as well to see if it suits your needs better.

Best Shotgun in XDefiant

There are three shotguns to pick from in XDefiant; the best one will be what you want in a shotgun. The AA-12 has a faster fire rate, and players who like that will gravitate toward that. The M249 and M870 dish out more damage, but they require players to be accurate with their shots.

All you have to do is figure out what type of player you are. The AA-12 would probably be better suited to beginners, but it's tough to go wrong with any of the three choices.

Best Sniper in XDefiant

Between the TAC-50 and the M44, the TAC-50 seems like the clear winner here. Of course, like every other gun, trying out every weapon is important to see if something better suits your style.

To unlock the TAC-50, players first have to get 25 one-shot kills with the M44, so they'll know by then if the M44 is worth using in the long run.

Best Marksman Rifle in XDefiant

The Marksman Rifle will see players choosing between the MK 20 SSR or the SVD. Between the two, the SVD gets the edge here. However, players should try out both as it won't take much time.

Attachments will go a long way to making this gun feel more tuned to your play style, so make sure to experiment with those as well. With that said, players looking for a blend between an assault rifle and a sniper can find it here.

Best Pistol in XDefiant

Pistols won't be used all that much in XDefiant if things are going right, but it's still essential to have a solid secondary weapon. Players looking to deal the most damage will want to use the Magnum.

Well-rounded players will probably stick with the 93R, as it can still dish out some decent damage and handles a bit better than the Magnum does. There are six pistols, so finding the right one can take some time.
