When a new character comes out in Star Rail, one must carefully scope if said character is worth the expensive cost of admission. After all, each new character you get requires extensive amounts of fuel to gear up, and time is not cheap. In this case, we have Luocha, the righteous Abundance user (i.e. healer) we were introduced to earlier in the story. So, should you take the plunge for him? Does he bring enough value?
Is Luocha Good? (Honkai Star Rail)
The short and sweet answer is yes, but only under certain circumstances. You see, Luocha is a healer at his core, but he offers a number of other advantages that significantly boost his value. His most important addition to your account is his consistent ability to dispel enemy buffs. If you've attempted Star Rail's endgame, then you know just how annoying some of the enemies can be with their constant buff application. Elites, specifically, can really give you a hard time, so imagine having a character that can dispel these annoying buffs with his ultimate. It is easy to recommend him alone for this reason.
However, I can confidently say he isn't exactly necessary if you already have Bailu and Natasha geared up and ready. Everyone gets Natasha for free, but Bailu is a five-star character that requires incredible luck to obtain. As you likely already know, there are two sides to the Forgotten Halls, and having a healer on both sides makes progression there much, much easier. So, if you don't have Bailu, I recommend pulling Luocha. If you do, then feel free to save your Stellar Jade unless you really want him.
Are Luocha's Eidolons Worth it in Honaki Star Rail?
You should know Luocha is a complete character at E0; he has a full kit that functions entirely without the need for additional Eidolons, as they effectively function as extra buffs. None of them provide any real new mechanics, meaning they can all be safely ignored.
However, if you plan to get Eidolons for Luocha, his stopping points are E1 or E2, as they provide the largest gains outside of his E6. Understand though his E1 and E2 are not major enough to recommend pulling for still. His E1 provides an additional, team-wide attack buff, which is nice, but hardly worth the cost, while his E2 provides additional healing and the limited ability for him to apply shields under niche conditions. Again, this is nice, but far from worth the Steller Jade price tag. I do not recommend going for these.
