Many players who have started playing Back 4 Blood have been reporting freezing issues when they try to move in a match. This is a common problem regardless of the game, but it most often affects new games since the developers still need to work out the kinks.
There is a good chance that the freezing is caused by an issue on the development end that needs to be addressed with an update/patch. However, there are some steps you can take to try to fix the issue yourself. We have listed them below.
Option One: Rejoin the match.
This is the first thing you should try. There is speculation that the freezing often happens when you join a match already in progress and try to take over a bot. The only way to fix this (since it's a bug you can't control) is to rejoin the match and hope it works better the next time. Try doing this two or three times before trying other steps.
Option Two: Update your drivers.
This is the most common issue that causes game stuttering and freezing. If your graphics drivers are not up-to-date, it will frequently cause compatibility issues with newer games using new software. Force an update on your graphics and audio drivers to see if that is the issue. Even if you have an amazing graphics card, this is an important step since drivers get updated all the time.
Option Three: Change your graphics settings.
Even with the newest graphics cards, it is possible that the game simply doesn't have good compatibility with the device on its highest settings. This likely indicates an issue that the developers need to fix, but you may need to settle with lower settings until they do. You can change back 4 Blood graphics settings from the Graphics tab in the settings menu.
Following the steps above should fix the issue with the game freezing when you move. If it doesn't, we recommend contacting the support team at the Back 4 Blood website to make them aware of the issue.
