With Back 4 Blood out across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, fans of the Left 4 Dead franchise can enjoy more tense undead-slaying action with up to three of their friends. In their playthrough, players are sure to find items of which their teammates need to be aware. Thankfully, Back 4 Blood has a ping system that allows players to notify other users of essential gear.
To ping items in Back 4 Blood, tap the controller's left bumper (L1 on PS4/PS5, LB on Xbox One/Series X|S) when looking at an item, enemies, or weapons. Depending on what players ping, characters will use callouts that other players can hear throughout the lobby. Pings are visible across the map and even let allies know how far they are away from the pinged item.
While Back 4 Blood is the next step for Turtle Rock Studios, they've added several new features to improve the game's fluidity, including the Card system, which lets characters receive upgrades for each chapter they complete. These cards can be purchased with Supply Points and earned for completing some of the game's accomplishments.
Experimenting with the Card decks is a great way to tweak character performance, so those interested in learning more should see our extensive breakdown.
Back 4 Blood is out now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
