Can I play Beat Saber on the PSVR with only one Move Controller?

After all, PlayStation Move controllers are not cheap.

Since Beat Saber uses motion tracking, you can’t play the game on the PlayStation VR unless you have the PlayStation Move controller. It’s sold separately for $60. Normally, you’d use two controllers to play Beat Saber, but is it possible with just one?

You can play Beat Saber on the PSVR with one Move controller. The game has a One-Handed mode, which you can select on the menu screen. Its tracks are a lot different but it is still challenging. You can even play the beat maps mirrored if you’re left-handed.

However, to fully enjoy the Beat Saber experience, it’s recommended to play with two Move controllers. Multiplayer mode can’t be accessed with a single saber as well. If you don’t own one at the moment, you can buy Sony’s PlayStation Move Two Pack. It’s cheaper than purchasing two $60 controllers separately.

Besides, Beat Saber isn’t the only game that uses Move controllers. Other PSVR games, such as Superhot, Job Simulator, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, have the option to be played with Move controllers for the added immersion. Non-VR PS4 games that require motion tracking, such as Just Dance, also need at least one Move controller to be playable.
