Bravely Default 2 Boat Exploration not working & how to fix

The Boat Exploration system is necessary if you want to get specific items in Bravely Default 2, however, a large number of players are reporting that the system is not working for them. That said, here is how to fix the boat exploration system and what you need to do. 

How to fix the Boat Exploration system in Bravely Default 2

If boat exploration is not working for you in Bravely Default 2, the problem is most likely that your Switch is not in sleep mode with the game running.

In short, boat exploration will only happen when you put the Switch while in the game in sleep mode; you can do this by holding down the home button, and then selecting the sleep mode option.

You will also need to do this while you are in-game, this means do not go to the home screen; if you don't know what the home screen is, it's where you choose a game to play.

Once you have done all of this, you should see your explorations making some steady progress, and if you wait a few more minutes like 10 to 20 they should complete on their own.

When they finally do complete, you will receive all mater of goodies such as XP and JP Orbs; however, make sure to check in with your expeditions, as past a specific time frame like 12 hours, you won't be able to earn some items like the XP and JP orbs. That said, we recommend only starting one expedition a day to make the most of the feature.
