Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Skill Progression, Explained

Skills to pay my cybernetic bills!

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 introduces a fully revamped Skill progression board that has initially confused the players on how it works. While diligently working on my skill tree and planning for perks, I noticed a Skill Progression button on the lower-right corner of my attributes selection. But when I went into the Skills menu, I didn't know how to raise the stats because clicking on rewards didn't do anything. This guide will cover everything you need to know about skill progression in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Skill Progression Guide

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 features a fully remodeled Skill Progression system, in which players can level up passively by performing activities tied to a particular skill. The game could do a better job explaining how they work and how you can earn more skill points, but once you understand the system, it will significantly benefit any build you're making. Skill Progression features five skills that describe a particular archetype:

  • Headhunter: Headhunter is essential for playing assassin-style builds. You can upgrade it by killing enemies using knives, pistols, and precision rifles.
  • Netrunner: This skill is essential for Netrunner-type builds, enabling you to build upon your hacking speed and RAM usage. To level up this skill, perform hacks and use Smart weapons to take down enemies.
  • Shinobi: Shinobi skill boosts your melee weapon prowess, which is great for melee-oriented builds. Leveling this skill is fairly straightforward by using those same weapons to kill enemies/
  • Solo: Solos are the heavyweights of Cyberpunk 2077 and are famous for being exceptionally difficult to put down. Harnessing this skill allows you to build upon your base HP and strength. To level up your Solo skill, use Shotguns and LMGs to take out your opponents.
  • Engineer: This is more of a backing skill that covers miscellaneous utilities, like boosting your armor and increasing your cyberwear capacity. To level this skill up, use grenades to kill your opponents and disarm mines, turrets, and cameras.
