What are Ancient Scrolls for in Dark and Darker?

While dungeon diving in Dark and Darker, you will come across various loot. These range from weapons and gear to keep you alive to items you can sell for gold. One item that you may discover is an Ancient Scroll. This may leave you wondering what Ancient Scrolls do in Dark and Darker.

What to do with Ancient Scrolls in Dark and Darker

At the time of writing, Ancient Scrolls do not have a purpose in-game. Their only use is to be sold, which is not particularly worth it as they only net you between 10 and 15 gold when sold, depending on the condition. However, some players have reported rarer quality, like Exquisite Ancient Scrolls, which have sold for up to 75 gold. As such, there is no real purpose for picking these up while looting the dungeon unless it is of high quality.

That said, if you want to get Ancient Scrolls, you can find them while looting. We found ours in a treasure chest, so this seems to be the best way to get Ancient Scrolls. Keep an eye out for any chests, and be sure to loot them. Be careful, though, as some chests may be mimics and attack you.
