Best Dead by Daylight Survivor Perks

Best S-tier Survivor Perks in Dead by Daylight

Adrenaline

Adrenaline has been and continues to be one of the most powerful Survivor perks in the game, brought in by Meg Thomas. It activates at the end of a match when all generators are powered on or when the Killer closes a hatch.

If you are downed, Adrenaline will heal you up to the Injured state. If you are Injured, it will fully heal you. If you are already healed, then you will just have to enjoy the five-second speed burst. It is so useful, and I have had many moments where I've been trying to loop and stay alive, waiting for that gen to pop.

Off the Record

After you are unhooked, Off the Record activates. It will last up to 80 seconds, during which your Aura will be hidden if the Killer is using any Aura reading perks. This perk will also suppress your grunts of pain when injured, making you silent so that the Killer can't find you.

Off the Record will also grant you the Endurance Status Effect. This means that if you are hit, you can resist the damage for 80 seconds. However, if you start blessing a totem, healing other Survivors, repairing gens, or doing other conspicuous actions, Endurance will deactivate.

Off the Record will keep you alive and hide you if the Killer is tunneling. It also works great paired with Adrenaline during the end game. We all know it's very difficult to escape that last hook, and this perk makes it way easier.

Best A-tier Survivor Perks in Dead by Daylight

Distortion

Many Killer perks and add-ons have the ability to read Survivor Auras, so if you want to stay hidden, you need to use Distortion. You'll start the match with three tokens. Any time the Killer tries to read your Aura, one token will be used to keep you hidden for up to 10 seconds.

You can also tell what Killer perks are active based on when your stacks are used up. For example, this is very useful if your stack goes down when a Survivor is hooked. Then you'll know the Killer has Barbecue & Chilli and that you have to stay close to the hooks once your three tokens are used up. The same goes for all other Aura reading perks.

Plot Twist

Getting Nic Cage in DBD was certainly a plot twist, so it makes sense that this is one of his best perks, as well as in general. Plot Twist is a weird healing perk that first has to take you down a notch. When you're injured, you can silently go into the Dying state.

Getting into the Dying State will suppress grunts of pain as well as pools of blood. Don't worry, you won't be like this for long as you can lift yourself up. The best part about it is you get up fully healed with the addition of 50% Haste for up to four seconds.

Alert

The Killer isn't the only one who can read Auras. Alert is a great information perk that tracks the Killers all across the map. You can see them when they destroy a pallet or wall or damage a generator for the next five seconds. With Alert, you can get pretty reliable information throughout the match.

Empathy

Empathy is another Dead by Daylight information perk, except this time, you'll get information on your fellow Survivors. Whenever a Survivor is injured or downed, you can see their Aura. This perk has a huge range of up to 128 meters, meaning that you can almost constantly track your teammates. With Empathy, you'll know when to help another Survivor or when you need to run away.

Best C-tier Survivor Perks in Dead by Daylight

Boil Over

Boil Over is a great perk to have to avoid being hooked, especially on lower levels. Your Wiggling will increase the Struggle Effect on Killers by 80%. This is especially useful when the Killers are trying to get you through a door or when there are other obstacles in the way.

You can also use Boil Over to block the Auras of Hooks from the Killer within 16 meters. Killers will also sometimes drop down from a bigger height, filling your wiggle meter by 33%. The Killer will probably notice the increased struggle, but you could get them to slip while wiggling to get this effect.

Clairvoyance

Once you cleanse a Totem, Clairvoyance activates. If you don't have an item in hand, you can use this perk to unlock your Aura reading abilities. You can then see Auras of generators, hooks, chests, exit gate switches, and even the hatch. This is a great perk to get to know the map, and even better during the end game if you're the last one standing.

Best D-tier Survivor Perks in Dead by Daylight

Calm Spirit

Calm Spirit makes you completely silent during certain situations. When running, you won't disturb the crows, and the Killer won't be notified by them flying off. Those birds have ratted me out too many times to count. Calm Spirit will also keep you from screaming from any cause. You will also be silent when opening chests and cleansing Totems.

Diversion

While it may not always be useful, Diversion is a fun perk to run just for the fact of getting to throw pebbles. If you are in close proximity to the Killer for 30 seconds, you'll activate this perk. Throw a pebble 20 meters away from you, cause a loud noise notification, and leave some scratch marks. With Diversion, it's not you who's being stalked anymore, it's the Killer. Oh, how the tables have turned!
