With the remastered version having just been released, it won't come as a surprise to see the servers for Diablo II run in to a few hiccups, which means sometimes the game won't let you log in. This guide will show you how to check the server status to see if the issue causing the connection error is on your end or the server end.
There is currently no official page way to check the server status for Diablo II, although we expect that change. In the meantime, there are workarounds to help you figure out exactly what is going on. Several websites have been created specifically for users to report issues for almost any multiplayer game. Two of the most commonly used sites are Downdetector and Ping Server Status.

Downdetector
Unfortunately, there is no page on Downdetector that is specifically for Diablo II yet. However, there are pages for Diablo and Battle.net in general, which should server as strong indicators for the server status. With Diablo II Resurrected having finally be released, we expect a page to show up specifically for that sometime soon. Until then, use the Downdetector pages listed below to see if there are any problems.
Pingserverstatus
Pingserverstatus is a more simple tool for checking connectivity issues on your games. This tool checks to see if there is a connection to the servers, and if so, what the latency is. If the server status is online and the latency is low on this site, it generally means the connection is not on the server end. To check the Pingserverstatus page for Diablo II Resurrected, use the link provided below.
That's all you need to know about checking the server status for Diablo II. If at any point you can't login to the game, check these pages to get the most recent updates.
