Dying Light 2 is a game that offers an experience that changes as the day progresses. The infected are less hostile during the day, but players must contend with human enemies, but at night, the infected reign supreme, giving players a new type of obstacle to overcome. Several more changes come in the evening, including the Night-Time Bonus mechanic.
The Night-Time Bonus is a feature that allows players to earn additional experience on top of standard experience yield for their character and each of its skillsets during the evening hours of the game. Enemies are more dangerous at night, so surviving encounters is more challenging, but the rewards are often worth the extra effort. Night-Time Bonus gains stockpile for the entirety of a night in Dying Light 2 should players survive until morning. They'll see these additional earnings deposited into their experience gauges.
Should players fail to survive through Dying Light 2's night cycle, they will be forfeiting all Night-Time experience they've earned throughout the night. The Night-Time Bonus meter will reset in these cases, meaning that it's more important at night to escape encounters with unfavorable odds.
