How to rematch with bosses in Elden Ring

Refight your favorite opponent!

Elden Ring is known for its gritty art direction, testing combat, and hard-to-defeat opponents (for which its new DLC is facing some criticism). No boss fight feels quite the same, as every imposing creation that FromSoftware has concocted has some unique trick up its sleeve. If you ever feel like fighting an enemy again, here's how to rematch with bosses in Elden Ring.

How can you rematch with bosses in Elden Ring?

You can't just go back to the boss' spawn after defeating it once and expect him to come back; that would be pointless for the plot. But certain ways and workarounds can be used to rematch bosses.

  • Entering New Game Plus (NG+)
  • Playing co-op with other players
  • Using a mod

Entering New Game Plus

New Game Plus is the best way to re-experience all the boss fights you've enjoyed. Once you defeat the final boss and get your ending, the story ends and you respawn with all the bosses replaced. The enemies will have improved strength in NG+, but you keep your weapons, character level, runes, spells, armor, and other non-quest-related items that will help you. This isn't the easiest way to rematch a boss, though, as you have to complete the entire game to do so.

Playing co-op with other players

After defeating a boss, you can place your summon sign down which other players can use to pull you into their game where you can fight the boss together. This is Elden Ring's co-op feature, allowing you to play with your friends and even random players. Note the host has to have not defeated the boss, you're not guaranteed to be summoned by others, and you can't enter dungeons.

Using a mod

The best way to rematch a boss in Elden Ring is by using the Boss Rematch mod created by Halabumscadumtious. However, since it's a third-party mod, only PC players will be able to install it. It allows you to battle not all, but several powerful bosses from the game whenever you want in the Leyndell arena. It's worth noting that the bosses have been tweaked by the mod's creator to lower their difficulty and may not feel the same as when you originally fought them.

The new Elden Ring DLC is undoubtedly tough, but there are some items you can utilize to make things a tad bit easier without exploiting the game.
