If you are having trouble logging into Final Fantasy XIV, chances are there's something going on. This could be anything from server issues, or the server is just plain down. Here's how to check the FFXIV server status.
How to check the status of Final Fantasy XIV servers
To check if the FFXIV servers are down, you will have to visit Downdetector or Is FFXIV up. At these sites, you will be able to see if the servers are down for Final Fantasy XIV. If you visit Downdector, you will also be able to view any issues that are plaguing the servers, along with problems reported by players in real time.
You can also check the official Twitter account and the FFXIV website for any updates for scheduled maintenance. At the official site, you are able to view updates, status, and various news about the game.

However, if you check all of the linked sites and see nothing regarding server issues or scheduled server maintenance, you may be experiencing client-side issues. If this is the case, check the list below for some troubleshooting steps to help fix any connection issues you may be having.
- Restart Router:Â Restarting your router will sometimes resolve internet speed issues; locate your router, unplug the wires for about 10 seconds and plug them back in.Â
- Check Internet Connection:Â Check your internet connection by visiting a speed test site like fast.com. If the results come back stating your connecting is slow, this might be the source of your connection problems.
- Restart Game: The next fix you can try is to restart your game; this might resolve any issues you are experiencing.Â
- Restart System:Â Â If restarting didn't work, try restarting your system; not guaranteed to fix any problems, but it can't hurt to try.Â
