All Fortnite Chapters List

Fortnite Chapters are major updates to the game that introduce new seasons, gameplay mechanics, and evolving storylines.

Fortnite Chapter 7

Chapter 7 Season 4

The current season, Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, kicked off on August 20, 2026. This update delivers a massive tech-driven overhaul to the island map alongside new crossover cosmetics and high-tier Battle Pass rewards.

Chapter 7 Season 3

Titled Runners, Chapter 7 Season 3 brought high-velocity movement gadgets, revised mobility items, and parkour mechanics across urban points of interest (POIs) on the island.

Chapter 7 Season 2

Running from March to June 2026, Showdown pitted rival factions against each other, introducing regional faction control and live event challenges across the map.

Chapter 7 Season 1

Launching in late 2025, Pacific Break introduced an entirely new island layout themed around coastal paradises, ocean combat, and watercraft gameplay mechanics.

Fortnite Chapter 6

Chapter 6 Season 4 & Mini-Seasons

Chapter 6 featured high-octane updates, including Shock 'N Awesome, alongside experimental mini-seasons like Galactic Battle and Fortnite x The Simpsons, bringing unique short-term Battle Passes and themed POIs to the Battle Royale environment.

Chapter 6 Seasons 1-3

From the samurai-inspired Hunters season to the wild heist setting of Lawless and superhero abilities in Super, Chapter 6 delivered major changes to combat mechanics, Mythic weapons, and environmental hazard systems.

Fortnite Chapter 5

Chapter 5 Season 5 (Chapter Two Remix)

Following the iconic structure of previous throwback events, Chapter Two Remix brought players back to classic Chapter 2 locations, mythic items, and musical artist collaborations to close out Chapter 5.

Chapter 5 Season 4

Absolute Doom brought Marvel back to the forefront of Fortnite, featuring Doctor Doom taking over the island, introducing new Marvel superhero abilities, and adding high-tech POIs like Castle Doom and Doomstadt.

Chapter 5 Season 3

Titled Wrecked, Season 3 introduced a post-apocalyptic wasteland biome, vehicle mods, nitro boost mechanics, and wasteland bosses dominating the southern region of the map.

Chapter 5 Season 2

Chapter 5 Season 2 reshuffled gameplay by introducing Greek Gods Zeus, Medusa, Hades, Cerberus, Poseidon, Aphrodite, and Artemis. Defeating Greek bosses allowed players to acquire mythic versions of weapons such as the Harbinger SMG, Warforged Assault Rifle, Gatekeeper Shotgun, and Thunderbolt of Zeus, alongside POIs like Mount Olympus and Grim Gate.

Chapter 5 Season 1

Every new chapter brings new weapons, POIs, characters, and bosses to refresh gameplay. Chapter 5 Season 1, named Underground, introduced bosses Oscar, Nisha, Montague, Valeria, and Peter Griffin from Family Guy, dropping Society Medallions that restored Shield over time.

Fortnite Chapter 4

Chapter 4 Season 1

New chapters bring many changes, and this one introduced a new island and weapons, such as the now fan-favorite Red-Eye Assault Rifle. With plenty of new locations to explore and Oathbound chests to open up, players enjoyed the start of this new chapter.

Chapter 4 Season 2

This chapter introduced Katanas and collaborations with Attack On Titan (including the ODM Gear), Star Wars (lightsabers, powers, and new weapons), and Spider-Man. Ranked Play was also introduced at this time.

Chapter 4 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 introduced a new jungle biome to the map, revealed after the island's center collapsed. The season also introduced a new "Thermal DMR" weapon, which could detect enemies from behind cover. Additionally, players could now ride raptors, a new vehicle type.

Chapter 4 Season 4

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 introduced a new vampire-themed villain, Kado Thorne. He took over the island and drained its wealth to fund his opulent properties: Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat, and Eclipsed Estate. The goal of the season was to heist Thorne's properties and thwart his ultimate plan.

Chapter 4 Fortnite OG

One of the most notable changes was the return of the original map (hence the season's name, Fortnite OG). This let players join OG Skirmishes and experience the game as originally intended, with no new locations or gameplay mechanics.

Fortnite Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Season 1

Spider-Man finally came to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 1, after well over a year of anticipation, rumors, and hype. Chapter 3 surprised most players, as we had no idea Fortnite would end Chapter 2 until a few weeks before it happened. This Chapter introduced us to new mechanics like sliding, new Battle Pass characters (including Spider-Man), and an entirely new map.

Chapter 3 Season 2

After Spider-Man came to the spotlight in Chapter 3 Season 1, we fought through a massive event that showed the sheer power of Doctor Strange. Then, in Chapter 3 Season 2, we faced an all-out war against the IO as they tried to keep The Seven from taking control of the island.

With our help, The Seven pushed back against the IO forces and protected the island from their rule. However, Doctor Slone had a few tricks up her sleeve—including one that shook the Earth's foundations!

Chapter 3 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 started as a (literal) out-of-this-world experience; players who participated in the live event controlled a giant mech built on the moon. The theme for the season was Vibin', and significant changes were made to the map to emphasize it, including neon-colored overgrowth and gigantic mushrooms. This season's summer theme brought plenty of music and a relaxed atmosphere.

Chapter 3 Season 4

Fortnite Season 4 ended up being the conclusion of Chapter 3, much earlier than players anticipated. Paradigm — voiced by Captain Marvel star Brie Larson — was introduced into the mix, and she helped guide players along the storyline. To close out the chapter, players re-powered the Zero Point. In doing so, they created an entirely new island to explore (hence the chapter change).

Fortnite Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Season 1

Boats, Bandage Bazookas, and only Basic Weapons are three things we remember most about Chapter Two Season One. Fortnite added new achievements, more Battle Pass mechanics and rewards, and made getting across the water in the game way more fun. It finally felt like the game it was meant to be.

Chapter 2 Season 2

This season brought about Muscle-Cat and gave us options for the rewards we earned. The Shadow and Ghost groups gave us light and dark-themed versions of characters, item skins, and weapon skins. We also got to obtain the dance that is funny no matter which character is doing it—The Kitty Cat Dance.

Chapter 2 Season 3

A considerable portion of the map was flooded in Chapter 2 Season 3; it receded throughout the season, but it made boats an absolute necessity until then. Season Two was technically the first season to introduce styling of in-game content (does anyone even use Maya anymore?), but Season Three let us style our umbrella!

Chapter 2 Season 4

Marvel took over Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 4. Certain special items that mimicked our favorite superhero powers were made available, and several significant chunks of the map were replaced with Marvel-related areas. Upstate New York became the hottest drop point, where players would battle Iron Man himself. At the end of the season, Fortnite did something it never did before and had its players fly the Battle Bus to defeat Galactus!

Chapter 2 Season 5

Season 5 gave us bounties, bounty hunters, and baby Yoda. The story revolves around Agent Jonesy recruiting bounty hunters, who appear in-game as NPCs you can interact with. They provided quests and items and were the only way to upgrade your weapons. Once you reached level 100 in the Battle Pass, you got everyone's favorite Mandalorian character — the aptly nicknamed Baby Yoda — as a companion!

Chapter 2 Season 6

Season 6 of Chapter 2 brought massive, fresh content and new mechanics to explore. The tagline for this Season was Primal, and holy smokes, was it ever. Much of the map changed to mirror historic fantasy architecture, and we were introduced to crafting, which lets us alter and upgrade our weapons if we collect the right resources.

Chapter 2 Season 7

Chapter 2 Season 7 didn't forget the storyline, but it put it in the background. We saw The Foundation fall into the water at the end of this Season's story trailer, so we fully expected him to be back. In the meantime, this chapter brought Aliens to Fortnite island! The IO Guards were back and stronger than ever, and it seemed we were on the brink of all-out war, with the fate of the entire island at risk.

Chapter 2 Season 8

In the trailer for Chapter 2 Season 8, we saw a menacing preview of what was to come over the next couple of months. It appeared there were many different Kevins (the Cubes), all with a mind of their own and the ability to spawn Cube Monsters to protect them. Not featured in the trailer are the Sideways Anomalies that populated the map in every match, where players entered an alternate reality and fought off hordes of the Cube Monsters.

Fortnite Chapter 1

Fortnite Season 1

Season One brings us back to when Battle Royale games were just becoming known. Fortnite's main competition back then was PUBG. With much simpler graphics and fewer weapons and skins to choose from, Chapter One Season One of Fortnite is almost unrecognizable when compared to the current market-dominating game it is today. That is, of course, except for the signature default character.

Fortnite Season 2

Season Two was when Fortnite deployed some clever monetization: The Battle Pass. Want some of those fancy skins and neat cosmetic features? Now you don't have to pay for them directly! Put in $10 and fight, search, and possibly hide your way to a higher level. This was also the first season we saw the classic Chapter One location, Tilted Towers.

Fortnite Season 3

Season Three brought challenges and officially awakened the completionist in all its players. Most of us would be familiar with this thought:

Go to bed? Maybe in a minute; I just want to get this achievement first.

Next thing you know, three hours have gone by, and you're pre-emptively debating calling into work the next day.

Fortnite Season 4

Season Three had some themed elements, but Season Four was when themes began to dominate the Fortnite updates. It focused a lot on Superheroes and Superhero movies. Many points of interest (POIs) were changed to mimic movie-making settings.

Fortnite Season 5

Season Five introduced the World's Collide theme. Rifts began to open, allowing players to travel across the map quickly. This season also introduced Toys into Battle Royale, which could be equipped, thrown, or otherwise used when battling against other players. This brought to light how versatile Fortnite truly is.

Fortnite Season 6

The most bittersweet season of Chapter One, Season Six destroyed Loot Lake (a popular drop point) for the sake of the admittedly amazing Darkness Rises theme (which added to the Worlds Collide storyline). It also gave us Pets and Music, which was quite a selling point for the game. Bring them back, Epic!

Fortnite Season 7

Season Seven was the first winter-themed season and brought a lot of joy to younger kids with Creative Mode. You could design your levels and game modes in Creative instead of always diving into battle. As a result, user-created content on the Fortnite marketplace exploded in popularity!

Fortnite Season 8

Season Eight gave us riddles, treasure, and a sense of adventure. Group raids of the pirate campsites became popular, which meant another enemy to consider besides other players. Those riddles also gave us something to consider if we wanted to unlock those sweet rewards.

Fortnite Season 9

The classic Fortnite blue/purple/pink shades started to show in Season Nine, which was themed on a cyberpunk future setting. Thankfully, the sensory overload was dulled down a bit in future seasons.

Fortnite Season X

Season X was the last season of Chapter 1. With the theme titled "Out of Time," developer Epic planned to completely revamp the game in Fortnite Chapter 2 from the beginning of the season. Many players were left concerned when everything got sucked into a black hole at the end of the chapter, and we didn't hear any news for several days; conspiracies and speculation ran rampant.
