How to unlock the Pavilion of Hermits Luxurious Chest in Genshin Impact

The Genshin Impact Secret Summer Paradise event runs from July 5, 2023, to August 16, 2023, allowing you to explore the Veluriyam Mirage for a limited time. After completing the second Summer Serendipity called Secret Summer Paradise: Part II - Mirage Paradise in Crisis!, a Luxurious Chest will spawn in the Pavilion of Hermits. But there's a problem: it's locked behind a barrier. Follow the walkthrough below to solve the puzzle.

If you don't see the Luxurious Chest or are having trouble accessing some of the areas, make sure to complete the Secret Summer Paradise: Part II Event Quest first.

Genshin Impact Pavilion of Hermits Luxurious Chest puzzle guide

To remove the barrier blocking the Luxurious Chest in the Pavilion of Hermits, you need to solve two Preprint puzzles on opposite ends of the area. They can be solved in any order.

Preprint puzzle #1 location & solution

Start from the Dance of Flashing Thought Teleport Waypoint in the Pavilion of Hermits. From there, follow the path toward the northwest, which we marked up for you in the image above. You'll find a Hilichurl encampment, where you must ride a wooden elevator upward. If you don't see the wooden elevator, wait for it to come down.

Once you're up, follow the path to the area circled in the image above. You'll find a Streaming Projector, which you need to interact with to initiate the Preprint puzzle.

To solve the Preprint puzzle, you need to pick up Brilliant Mirrors and place them in Gleaming Lamps with the same color. However, stepping onto a spotlight with the wrong color will remove the Mirror from your possession, so you need to solve the puzzle using a specific path. Follow the exact steps below to solve it.

I recommend starting with the orange set as it's the closest. Do this in order:

1. Pick up the orange Brilliant Mirror.
2. Step on the elevator on the left and quickly jump onto the platform with the orange Gleaming Lamp.
3. Place the Brilliant Mirror on the orange Gleaming Lamp.

Next, I'll show you how to do the blue set. Do this in order, and be careful:

1. Step on the elevator to the left again and let it take you to the upper platform.
2. Pick up the blue Brilliant Mirror.
3. Place the Brilliant Mirror on the blue Gleaming Lamp, which you can reach by jumping down from the right. Do not use the elevator on the right as your character will fall onto the pink spotlight, and you'll have to pick up the Mirror again.

Lastly, you need to complete the pink set. Do this in order:

1. Pick up the pink Brilliant Mirror on the bottom right.
2. Wait for the elevator on the right to come down, then use it to reach the top platform. You can't use any other path, as the different-colored spotlights will remove your Mirror.
3. Once you reach the top platform, place the Brilliant Mirror onto the pink Gleaming Lamp.

Once all three colors are done, the Preprint puzzle will complete, and you'll be rewarded with a Precious Chest. You must open the Precious Chest to reveal a Hydro Eidolon, which will fly back to the Luxurious Chest's location.

Preprint puzzle #2 location & solution

Start from the Dance of Flashing Thought Teleport Waypoint in the Pavilion of Hermits. From there, head to the area circled in the image above to find an arrow-shaped signboard pointing to a tunnel. Go through the short tunnel to find a winding path.

Once you're through, follow the path until you reach the Screening Projector, which you need to interact with to begin the Preprint puzzle.

To solve the Preprint puzzle, you need to pick up Brilliant Mirrors and place them in Gleaming Lamps with the same color. However, stepping onto a spotlight with the wrong color will remove the Mirror from your possession, so you need to solve the puzzle using a specific path. Follow the exact steps below to solve it.

I recommend starting with the orange set. Follow the exact steps below:

1. Pick up the orange Brilliant Mirror.
2. Step on the elevator to get it out of the way, then jump down to the lowest level. Do not touch the pink spotlight on the left.
3. Place the Mirror on the orange Gleaming Lamp.

Next, let's do the blue set. Follow the exact steps below:

1. Pick up the blue Brilliant Mirror.
2. Don't head left as you must avoid the pink spotlight. Instead, use the elevator on the right to head to the topmost platform.
3. Once you're at the top, jump to the blue Gleaming Lamp and interact with it to place the Mirror.

Finally, follow these steps to complete the pink set:

1. Pick up the pink Brilliant Mirror.
2. Do not jump on the right side. Instead, jump down the middle section to avoid the blue spotlight.
3. Head to the leftmost elevator, then ride it and jump onto the platform with the pink Gleaming Lamp.
4. Place the Mirror in the Gleaming Lamp.

Once you're done with all three colors, you'll automatically exit the Preprint and will be rewarded with a Precious Chest. You need to open the Precious Chest to free the Hydro Eidolon, which will fly back to the Luxurious Chest.

Once you're done with both Preprint puzzles, return to the Luxurious Chest in the Pavilion of Hermits. You'll find that the barrier has now been dispersed, allowing you to loot it for rewards.
