The first Epitome Invocation of Genshin Impact 2.4 gives players the option to choose a path toward the Calamity Queller or the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear 5-Star Polearms. The Primordial Jade Winged-Spear has been in the game since September of 2020, while the Calamity Queller was just introduced in Genshin Impact 2.4. Which is better? It depends on what players are looking for.
Calamity Queller
The latest 5-Star Polearm in Genshin Impact, the Calamity Queller, is already considered a top-tier Polearm. It is no wonder, given its stats*:
- Base ATK: 741
- 2nd Stat: ATK 16.5%
- Ability: Extinguishing Precept - Gain 24% All Elemental DMG Bonus. Obtain Consummation for 20s after using an Elemental Skill, causing ATK to increase by 6.4% per second. This ATK increase has a maximum of 6 stacks. When the character equipped with this weapon is not on the field, Consummation's ATK increase is doubled.

The Calamity Queller is an excellent choice for Shenhe, Xiao, Xiangling, and Zhongli. For Shenhe, it is the best option.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
Another top-tier Polearm, the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, has been the go-to for characters like Xiao and Rosaria, being the best weapon for both. It also works well with Xiangling, Zhongli, and Hu Tao. Its stats* are as follows:
- Base ATK: 674
- 2nd Stat: CRIT RATE 22.1%
- Ability: Eagle Spear of Justice - On hit, increases ATK by 6.0% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 24%.

The Verdict
While there are many times where one weapon is better than another, it is hard when comparing two top-tier, 5-Star weapons. At this level, it is more who the weapon will be used with and its intended purpose.
For players looking to play Shenhe, the Calamity Queller is the best option out of the two Polearms. Players looking to play Xiao or Rosaria will want to go for the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear.
Everyone else is better off with the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear at this point, as it is a better fit for more characters than the Calamity Queller, but time may prove this wrong.
