Kratos has never looked this good.

The Santa Monica Studio Twitter states, "Photo Mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarök after launch - we’ll share more details closer to when we plan to release it." So while you won't be able to pause the action to take photos at launch, photo mode will come after release, allowing you to explore your artistic side.

In some ways, it works out that photo mode is released post-launch, as this allows you to enjoy the game and story first. You can then go back and take photos in areas you enjoyed and not worry about stopping to take photos.

Photo mode has become a fan favorite in gaming, especially in games that fully utilize the current generation's graphics. God of War Ragnarök is shaping to be a beautiful game and will likely provide plenty of great photo opportunities.
