Pokémon Go has become a fun Augmented Reality Game, or ARG, for dedicated players. Those willing to put the time and effort into building a bond with their Pokémon. Those who grab the elusive Best Buddy bonus receive a litany of perks. These include boosters in raid battles and Pokéball knockback bonuses. But how does one unlock this system?
To get the Best Buddy Status with a Pokémon, players must complete a list of daily activities for hearts. When players get 300 hearts on their buddy Pokémon, they'll unlock Best Buddy Status. Players can check these activities in the Activities panel. There are several tiers of the Buddy leveling system, which are listed below:
- Good Buddy - 1 Heart
- Great Buddy - 70 Hearts
- Ultra Buddy - 150 Hearts
- Best Buddy - 300 Hearts

Each tier of the buddy system comes with rewards, including boosts to attack during raids.
