Should you stab Gene with Knifey in High on Life?

To stab or not to stab.

Players can use many weapons in High on Life, but one of the most prominent is the sentient knife, aptly named Knifey. Kinfey can do some serious damage against enemies and bosses, like Krubis, but players can also stab an ally. Shortly after retrieving Knifey from 9-Torg's gang, they will return home, where the chatty weapon will beg to be stabbed into Gene. There is an achievement tied to stabbing Gene, so players should take the opportunity.

Stabbing Gene doesn't really have a major impact on the game or its story and really only adds a few additional dialogue lines. Knifey will beg players to allow him to stab Gene, and it's always nice to help out a friend. There is no major downside to doing it, and you will unlock an achievement when the act is complete, so it's a win-win for all—except Gene.

It is unclear if players have the opportunity to stab Gene and get the achievement later in the game, so it's a good idea to take the chance when it is presented to you. There are a few optional actions like this throughout the game, like defeating 5-Torg, and it's usually a good idea to take these opportunities while you can.
