These are all the spells to use in Hogwarts Legacy!

In Hogwarts Legacy, players get to learn and master different types of spells throughout their journey. Most of these spells are unlocked fairly early in the game. Players can also unlock more spell slots by improving their Core Talent with Talent Points. Here are all the spells and how to unlock them in Hogwarts Legacy.

Revelio

Revelio is the first spell players learn in the game during The Path to Hogwarts main quest. Revelio is classified as an Essential spell. It highlights a variety of useful and interactive targets in the world, including hidden objects, chests, puzzle items, enemies, loot, and more. 

Lumos

Lumos is classified as a Utility spell, and it allows players to light up darker areas of the map. Lumos is also essential to solve a few puzzles in the game. Players learn this spell at the start of The Path to Hogwarts quest.

Protego

Protego can protect against a variety of attacks including spell casts, weapon attacks, and much more. To cast it, press Y or Triangle on the controllers, and Q on the keyboard. To get a Perfect Protego, players need to wait till the last moment before an attack strikes. Doing this damages melee attackers and reflects projectiles back. Protego is classified as an Essential spell, and it is learned during The Path to Hogwarts quest.

Stupify

Stupify is classified as an Essential spell. It stuns enemies, making them easy targets for follow-up spells. Although Stupify deals no damage directly, stunning enemies allow players to deal extra damage. This spell can also break through weaker shield charms. Players can hold down on the Protego button to cast a counter-attack Stupify instantly. Players will learn Stupify during The Path to Hogwarts quest.

Levioso

Levitates objects and enemies. It is quite essential for solving puzzles, and levitating enemies. Levioso is classified as a Force spell. This spell can be acquired by attending and completing the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class main quest. It is taught by Professor Hecat.

Accio

Summons a variety of objects and enemies to close range. Certain magical and heavy objects require sustained forces to bring them close. When a summoned object is pulled by Accio, players will automatically cast Wingardium Leviosa to levitate and control it without additional button input. Accio is classified as a Force spell. This spell can be acquired by attending and completing the Charms Class main quest, and it's taught by Professor Ronen.

Reparo

Reparo is classified as a Utility spell. It allows players to quickly return damaged objects to their former state. Players can use it to fix broken objects in the game. Reparo is taught by Professor Ronen during Professor Ronen's Assignment quest. 

Petrificus Totalus

Petrificus Totalus is classified as an Essential Spell, Petrificus Totalus is powerful enough to permanently bind enemies. To perform this spell, simply sneak behind the enemy and press X or Circle for controllers and F on the keyboard. Petrificus Totalus is learned during the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest.

Ancient Magic

When at least one segment of the Ancient Magic Meter is full, players can cast devastating Ancient Magic attacks that deal massive damage to enemies. This spell breaks through shields easily, and players can cast it by pressing RB/R2 on the controller and X on the keyboard. This spell unlocks during the Welcome to Hogsmeade quest. 

Ancient Magic Throw

Summons and then throws special environmental objects at enemies. It is highly effective while breaking through shield charms. Players can cast this spell with RB+LB or R1+L1 on the controller and Z on the keyboard. This spell unlocks during the Welcome to Hogsmeade quest.

Incendio

Incendio is classified as a damage spell. It has a short range meaning players need to be close to the enemy. Remaro lights the opponent on fire and deals heavy damage. Enemies hurt by fire attacks will continue to take damage for a short while. Players can learn Incendio after completing Professor Hecat's Assignment 1

Disillusionment

Disillusionment is classified as a Utility spell. It causes players to blend into their surroundings, making it difficult for enemies to see players. This spell's invisibility factor allows players to sneak past opponents easily. Sneaking around also allows players to cast Petrificus Totalus. Players will learn this spell during the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest.

Expelliarmus

Expelliarmus is classified as a Damage spell. It disarms wands and weapons from most enemies. It also deals damage to all enemies if they are not carrying weapons. Players can learn Expelliarmus by completing Professor Hecat's Assignment 2 quest.

Confringo

Confringo is classified as a Damage spell. It shoots a long-range bolt that deals heavy damage. Enemies hit with this fire attack will continue to take damage for a few seconds. Confringo is taught by Sebastian Sallow during the In the Shadow of the Undercroft quest. 

Evanesco

Vanishes items and returns moonstones when cast within the Room of Requirement. Evanesco is classified as a Transfiguration spell. Players learn this spell from Professor Weasley during the Room of Requirement quest. 

Conjuring Spell

Conjures items into existence when cast within the Room of Requirement. Conjuring Spell is categorized as a Transfiguration spell. Players learn this spell from Professor Weasley during the Room of Requirement quest.

Altering

Alter the physical form and features of items when cast in the Room of Requirement. Altering is classified as a Transfiguration spell. This spell can be acquired from Professor Weasley during the Room of Requirement quest.

Glacius

Freezes enemies, increasing the damage taken from follow-up attacks. This spell can be learned after completing Madam Kogawa's Assignment 1 quest. Glacius is classified as a Control spell.

Depulso

Repels different types of objects and enemies with considerable force. Depulso deals no direct damage to foes, although players can launch enemies and objects toward each other for better results in combat. Depluso is classified as a Force spell. This spell can also be used to push or spin different objects to solve puzzles and for other uses. Players can learn this spell after completing Professor Sharp's Assignment 1 quest. To complete this Assignment, players will need a Focus Potion, a Maxima Potion, and an Edurus Potion.

Descendo

Deals no direct damage, but objects and enemies are slammed to the ground and will suffer impact damage. Enemies that are airborne will take additional damage upon slamming down on the ground. Decendo is classified as a Force spell and it can be acquired by completing Professor Onai's Assignment quest.

Wingardium Leviosa

Levitates and controls movable objects. Players can control the position of the object and fine-tune its distance and rotation with additional input. Wingardium Leviosa is classified as a Utility Spell. This spell is automatically cast on objects brought close by Accio. Players can learn this spell by completing Professor Garrick's Assignment 1 quest. To complete this Assignment, players will need a Venemous Tentacula, and a Mandrake.

Arresto Momentum

Slows both objects and enemies, giving players extra time to plan their next move. This spell can be learned after completing Madam Kogawa's Assignment 2 quest. Arresto Momentum is categorized as a Force spell.

Diffindo

Slashes objects and enemies from afar, dealing significant damage. Diffindo is classified as a Damage spell. Players can learn Diffindo by completing Professor Sharp's Assignment 2 quest. To complete this quest, players will need to get an Invisibility Potion and a Thundercrew Potion.

Flipendo

Flips Objects and enemies upwards and backward. This spell has a short cooldown and can be used to keep enemies in mid-air for a while. Flipendo can also be used to solve spells and take advantage of certain enemy weaknesses. Flipendo is classified as a Force spell. Players can learn this spell by completing Professor Garrick's Assignment 2 quest. Players will also need to grow a Fluxweed for this quest.

Alohomora

Alohomora gives access to a variety of locked rooms and containers throughout the world. Players can cast it in front of locked doors to unlock them. Alohomora is classified as an Essential spell and is taught by Gladwin Moon during The Caretaker's Lunar Lament quest. 

Bombarda

Deals heavy damage on impact followed by an explosion. The explosion can destroy heavy obstacles and hit surrounding objects as well as nearby enemies. Bombarda is classified as a Damage spell. Players can learn this spell after completing Professor Howin's Assignment quest.

Transformation

Transform objects and enemies into alternate forms, whether puzzle solutions or harmless knickknacks. Transformation is categorized as a Control spell. This spell can be learned after completing Professor Weasley's Assignment quest.

All unforgivable curses and how to get them in Hogwarts Legacy

Crucio

Crucio is an Unforgivable curse. It curses the enemy to suffer agonizing pain while taking damage over time. Players can learn Crucio by progressing in Sebastian Sallow's questline. This spell can be acquired In the Shadow of the Study side quest.

Imperio

Imperio is another Unforgivable curse. It temporarily forces enemies to fight as if they were teammates. While under a player's control, enemies take reduced damage from other opponents. It can be learned from Sebastian during In The Shadows Of Time quest.

Avada Kedavra

Avada Kedavra, or the killing curse, can be acquired by progressing in Sebastian Sallow's questline. Players will get this spell during In the Shadow of the Relic side quest. Keep an eye on the Owl Post, as it is easy to miss the letter sent by Sebastian for this quest.
